What a fantastic little boxer this kid is. If he only had a little more power Ian would definitely be in the hunt for World honours. If he carries on in this vein he may even still be for that matter. The kid is like a mini money Mayweather when he's "in the pocket". One for the purists perhaps, but for my money a real pleasure to watch. Don't get me wrong, I know Moffett's no World beater, but still.
Good wee domestic level operator, and you're right about the lack of power. The Mayweather argument might be taking things a bit too far. What is Moffett, 8-11-5 now.
Think I already mentioned that "Moffett is no World beater" and I'm not saying Nappa is anywhere near the great man's level, but you gotta admit the peek-a-boo style on the inside, especially early on, is reminiscent. Easiest pay day of Mickey Vann's career I'll wager, too. Did he even have to speak to them bar the count? Big respect to Colin Moffett for showing plenty of Irish fighting heart as well. Very enjoyable fight on the whole. Now let's look forward to Munroe who I haven't seen yet, but I hear good things. Fingers crossed.
He reminded me of a mixture of James Toney and Joy all rolled into one, but at an obviously lower level. Its good to see a solid pro with good solid old school skills
His fights are always so predictable that he should be renamed Ian 'makes you go for a napa' Nappa... Goes the distance every time....
Napa is a very good fighter and it hows you how good Damaen Kelly was considering he virtually pitched a shutout against him(yes technically the score was 97-94 but that was ridiculous) . I think Napa has the quality to go on and win the European title , but things can be very tough for him at this weight simply because of size difference . I wonder if there was a Super-Flyweight division covered by the Commonwealth and the EBU would he consider dropping down to it .
a smashing little fighter.pity about the lack of power.i agree with riot he does remind me of prettyboy in some of the things he does.especially when backed on the ropes being half sideways on with his chin hidden behind his left shoulder, then popping the guy with sneaky little right hands.might just have a chance of picking up a euro title.
Do we have a European super flyweight title? He would be wise going for that. He is clearly above the domestic level competion unless matched against a big bantam. At super fly he could do well and maybe be able to push for a world title shot, I think at this stage of his career and the run he's on the thought of him doing well at that weight is possible and the belt holders may look at his record and fancy a gimme in Britain.
It would look daft being the only boxing commision/board of the control having Flyweight at 115(a weight that to everyone else is Super-Flyweight) . Considering that there is no European Super-Flyweight title it would look a bit funny if the British champion could defend his title but not the European title because he can't make weight .
