There legacies are secure as it is, you can only judge a fighter on the fights he has taken.

Ian darke is a silly ****.

It's almost the same as saying usaon bolt is not great because he didn't beat his own world record even though he can clearly run a tad bit faster than he has shown.

 

what about the fights he has not taken, like cotto williams margarito pac and martinez , when the first 3 were deemed threats

 

you would have picked him to beat all of those first 3

 

in hindsight no ****ing way, id say floyd would have beat them all but there were times where those fights made the most sense for $$ but those 3 were looked upon as big threats, there is a pattern of floyd avoiding fights in certain time periods that cannot be overlooked

My point is, they shouldn't have to stay up til silly o'clock. And the States will get in when THEY want it. London, for a fight involving no British fighters, just isn't feasible in any way, shape or form.

Yep, definitely a better idea to assume a fighter can beat the best rather than prove it. Or, better still, rank said fighter over fighters that actually did beat the best.

So why not do it? There was plenty of money on the table for Cotto and Margarito, especially after their fight.

You have to actually prove you can beat someone, not just rely on received wisdom.

Nothing is ever a sure thing is sports, but cotto was green at the time mayweather was with top rank and there is video of him saying he doesnt want to face mayweather arum knew floyd was about to leave his company, so it wasnt worth the risk to arum.

Williams was too interested in weight jumping to stay in the divison and force mayweather into a corner.

Margarito never happened because ....... insert what you like but its not because mayweather was scared.

martinez is not even in mayweathers weight division, so its not worth talking about.
