The thing with Ian is that I don't think he is that motivated he has earned a

few quid off Prizefighter and wont be that bothered until he needs a few quid.

Talented but lazy.

 

Fat prospects can sometimes get they're act together as the career progresses but its very rare, has the style to be in some exiting domestic scraps and thats probably his limit (no shame there)

Like boxon says talented but lazy, bit like the Cuban he "beat"

I'm sure this was mentioned when he was interviewed on the bunce hour, about boxing price and beating Solis. why would he bull**** in public, surely solis would have something to say if it was bollocks.

with regards to Ian as a fighter, has a very fast jab and good head movement for a big man. if he lost more weight i reckon he could be one of the best in britain

 

like solis is ever going to hear about it, not likely

 

This guys claims that he beat Solis and Helenius in the ams are like my claims that I once beat Sugar Ray Robinson on fight night round 3

 

I have met Ian a couple of times at one of goodwin shows and at south east abas at fairfields, he doesnt strike me as kind of guy to talk rubbish. with regards to solis aswell does it seem that impossible that he beat him as an amateur. hes not gone on to be a world beater.

 

How did he manage to draw with someone he dropped 3 times in one round? :think

 

as i said earlier main problem with Ian is his conditioning and obviously if your not in shape your not taking your opponent seriously enough. plus this was before he started training with don charles.

but hes fight with dorian darch which was recent, he was entertaining, heavy handed and fast.

Im not saying hes gonna be the next big thing, but hes entertaining and nice character who puts on a show in his last few fights.

lets be honest the heavyweight divsion is a shower of **** at the moment

 

Yes mate it does seem that impossible. Whether or not he is a world beater as a pro is totally irellevant - he was a world beater as an amateur. Olympic champ and 3 time world amateur champ IIRC

 

if the record above is correct with the 17 loses, coudnt ian be one of them. and just like the pro's people have off nights in the amateurs.
may have been a bad decision or he may have beaten him by a whisker.

a remember a fighter called jim twite knocking haye down and winning by stoppage in the amateurs. haye went on to become a silver medalist as an amateur and was a decent/good amateur. twite was average. so on paper he should have never beaten david. upsets happen its boxing...
