This is for the IBA.Pro Intercontinental title, Sosulin's second defense. Doesn't count on either man's pro record. Sosulin is 12-0 (6) in real pro boxing, but honestly his IBA.Pro résumé is actually quite a bit better at just 2-0 with victories over Fatih Keleş and Qudratillo Abduqaxorov. Jorge Fortea Sales is 25-4-1 in the pros, and of his five blemishes three have come against decent names (Bakhram Murtazaliev, Anthony Fowler and Xander Zayas).
Round 1 Sosulin is trading jabs with Fortea, who is giving up ground with sliding steps while keeping his thumbs pinned to his forehead and leaning away. Sosulin starts to change his altitude and jab between the arms or elbows of Fortea to land on his torso. Fortea responds with a double left hook on the hip stepping around Sosulin. 1-2 into the navel by Sosulin. Been all head jabs and body shots from both so far. Sosulin catches Fortea leaning back with his guard low with a plunging right below his ear. Fortea tossing one-twos at body and head, getting blocked. Sosulin with quick hooking combos downstairs. 10-9 Sosulin
Round 2 Sosulin is mixing uppercuts on the flank with chopping rights on the head when Fortea leans aside into crouches. Sosulin throwing in threes and fours, Fortea in ones and twos. Fortea pushed into the ropes, and walks into an uppercut and overhand right trying to smother Sosulin. Fortea with a quick uppercut inside of his own. Sosulin reaching over the guard and tattooing Fortea's face. Sosulin presses Fortea on the ropes, landing combos on the guard to pin him and then drilling the body. Sosulin with a rapid shoveling right into the ribs converted into an uppercut splitting the guard. Sosulin using his left forearm to shove Fortea back into the ropes and grinding away with combos low and high. Fortea tries muscling him off with some uppercuts to escape the ropes but nothing doing. Sosulin lands a double jab on the body then a looping right on Fortea's temple as he's ducking. Sosulin shoeshines up top into Fortea's gloves and then gives him a tap on the solar plexus with his right and Fortea is left squirming in pain by the corner with Semen Stickyhead staring down at him. TKO2!!
Sosulin is decent overall, and quite a good body puncher - but I'm skeptical as to why his matchmaking in the actual pros has been so carefully cultivated (aside from Kurbanov...which was a huge leap up in class, and he was held to a SD and has since reverted to IBA matches). It could be that IBA.Pro just wants to build up a star within that system, or...there could be some glaring deficiencies just waiting to get exposed.
