IBA Pro Champion's Night: Khariton Daurovich Agrba vs. José Ángel Gabriel Rosa RBR

Why the hell have I been writing Sosa? Not enough coffee this morning.

 

Round 7

Agrba is zapping Rosa with his jab, then rolling under the counter jab and skittering off to either side. Agrba toying with Rosa now on the outside, leaning in to jab and then out all while buoying around him in short hemispherical sweeps. Rosa is throwing away the high right jab and slamming an underhanded left into the body. A few rough clinches, broken up quickly by the ref. Rosa scores a left hand and Agrba increases the distance behind a long fast jab. Rosa throwing more and more wildly, occasionally grazing with a hook but unable to consistently string anything together.

Rosa cut around his mouth, ton of Vaseline gobbed on. Breathing heavily on his stool.

Round 8

Agrba is still keeping up a high workrate, stemming Rosa's advance with straight flurries into the guard to hammer them into place before maybe sneaking a body shot. Clinches becoming more and more frequent but the ref makes sure they're brief and devoid of too much funny stuff, mostly clean work with the free hand, both landing meaty hooks. Rosa is very tired as the round ends, pushing out arm punches. Agrba grinding his shoulder into him, pushing off and flurrying.

Round 9

Agrba is laying a crisp jab on Rosa, then following up with upper flurries and spammed right hooks. There's a bit of below the belt whipping of leather both ways and the ref gets a handle on things in short order. Agrba is walking Rosa onto his right jab, worsening some cuts/swelling by his left eye. The ref turns and yells at someone's corner for being too loud. Agrba is continuing to be first and last in the trenches, but neither landing much clean, lots of forearms and elbows making contact rather than fists as they're pressed basically chest to chest with no room to work.

Round 10

Agrba is jabbing and hooking hard into the middle of Rosa's face, then falling in to hold, rest a moment, and release. Rosa is running out of time for heroics, and doesn't appear to have much remaining gas in his tank for any. Agrba is putting together jabs and looping lefts from outside, then crowding in on Rosa without pulling his arms back so they form a screen to let him clinch. Rosa following around, poking out with his right arm half-heartedly, knowing he's lost.
