    http://www.ringpolska.pl/tomasz-adamek/21193-ibf-walka-adamka-z-walkerem-nie-jest-eliminatorem

The IBF International Boxing Federation declined that the winner of Saturday's fight between Tomasz Adamek(46-2, 28 KO) and Travis Walker (39-7-1, 31 KO) will gain status as the #2 challanger for the International Boxing Federation heavyweight title. The title on the line is merely the IBF North American belt.

"Adamek-Walker is just a voluntary defense of the USABA North American title held by Adamek. This fight is not an eliminator. The winner of Kubrat Pulev-Alexander Ustinov becomes the mandatory challanger for Władymir Klitschko", said to ringpolska.pl Jeanette Salazar, the director of public relations for the IBF.

In the last IBF ranking Adamek was #4. The first two spots were unoccupied.

I guess this is a gesture from the IBF towards Adamek for not taking part in the 4-man IBF tourney, despite what Duva said earlier that this is an eliminator

Tbf, Pulev-Ustinov is the better fight & the winner would be a better opponent for Wlad than Adamek.

    Not hating, just saying.

Pity the winner isn't facing Pulev/Ustinov but I've always said the winner of that would be a worthy foe for Klitschko anyway.

I for one am glad. Klitschko-Pulev or Klitschko-Ustinov are better fights.

Well, Adamek can breathe easy knowing he won't have to face Ustinov or Pulev. Now he can focus on getting Potvetkins kiddie title.:yep

No big deal. Wlad v Pulev/Ustinov is slightly more exciting anyway.

Still interested to see the outcome of Adamek v Walker. I think Adamek will weather the early storm and go on to win comfortably.

I suppose if both Adamek and Cunningham win tomorrow then we'll get to see a rematch between those two with the winner of that probably getting a title shot.

This is the second straight proposed heavyweight 4-man tournament that the IBF has done where the winner only had to win one fight. Thompson only had to beat Harris in that 4-man tournament to get his shot and now Pulev-Ustinov.

Adamek doesn't need to win a tournament to get a shot at Wlad, he just needs to keep winning and the shot will come. Wlad will fight in the US again and Adamek is probably the most likey option. Arreola doesn't seem to want Wlad and Mitchell isn't quite ready. Even if the fight were in Europe Adamek is a likely option for Wlad.

Klychko fights Wach Nov 10th and Povetkin's 18 months expire in early March so he has to fight Volodymyr by then or drop the paper belt. I hope they fight but that means the Pulev/Ustinov winner (sep 29) will be inactive for at least 7 months with May being the earliest. They could have a easy fight in the meanwhile but still.

That was because Chambers got injured and pulled out. They were set to fight.

For the best. This is an unworthy eliminator.

Pulev will be more deserving of a shot after beating Ustinov than Adamek would be after beating Walker (and I don't even particularly rate Ustinov).

Of course, if Ustinov or Walker win it'll be via fluke KO and of course neither of them would have built up a case for being a credible challenger either. Of the four, only Pulev really has one.

What a bunch of fools really.. the mandatory is due in mid 2014 or something so there would have been plenty of time to make Adamek-Solis end of the year or early next and Adamek/Solis vs Pulev final eliminator at some point later next year..
