As previously stated in a few threads, I'm a newbie to boxing this last year. Trying to learn a lot without sounding like an idiot.

Was just wondering why these are vacant? Surely they would give a fighter a bit more bargaining power should they hold a world title? Or do they not mean a lot in comparison with the WBC, WBA or WBO?

    Knowledge is greatly appreciated!

No.They work a bit differently in that they get the top 10 rated fighters to draw straws and they haven't held the draw because everyone's in different countries right now..

They usually become vacant because someone relinquishes, gets stripped or retires.
The Ring is slightly different from the others.:good

It is more common for The Ring title to be vacant due to their stricter policies on who can fight for their belt.

WBC should stand for We Be Chicano because they are patently corrupt and hand titles to Mexican fighters at every opportunity; often to multiple fighters in the same weight class.

While none of the sanctioning bodies is beyond reproach, at least the IBF tries to have standards and sticks to only one champion per weight class.

I was only kidding in the first part!
But I felt no joy in being sarcastic to someone asking a genuine question,so I corrected myself.
    Sorry.

LOL it's ok. Literally, I'm somebody who has only started to take a keen interest in boxing this past year. I'm still young and have been growing up on WWE  - but that is awful these days.

Because I live in Ireland the Wlad-Haye fight got so much hype it got me hooked, and I have been trying to follow ever since. Initially, I watched mainly heavyweight fights but quickly found them to be dull so been trying the other divisions most of which seem to be more entertaining.

However, one thing I am noticing is that the fights we all want to see either take an eternity to happen, don't happen at all, or happen when one of the fighters isn't as good as they used to be.

I dunno, I'm a boxing idiot but trying to learn! Forgive my ignorance.

Haha I wish I did. Put it this way, I had no idea of the importance of footwork in boxing prior to watching it.

I figured where you put your feet would just come natural in a ring!
