Sam Soliman fought bouts to gain the No1 contender position. IBF champion Geale is due to fight his manatory Soliman by December 8. The IBF gave a special excemption for Geale to fight Mundine, to delay the mandatory. The special reason for the delay is that a Mundine fight creates more money.

Is correct? If so is it right? Is it good for boxing to have a system were an org allows a mandatory to be bypassed for a big money fight against a guy who does not even have a belt from another org? Is this good for boxing?

What the IBF are doing is corruption. Abuse of discretion, the misuse of one's powers and decision making facilities.

IBF & Sam Soliman's buddy Ray Wheatley sure are corrupt to allow Soliman to fight a garbage eliminator vs top 50 middleweight at best Giovanni Lorenzo to gain the number 1 position.

Soliman beat Lorenzo better than Sylvester, just as well as Sturm. Soliman beat Wood better than Mundine. Soliman beat Albert just as well as Geale. It was a combination of these 3 most recent fights that earnt the no1 position.

Seriously you think Soliman deserves a shot? Not only that but why on earth would Geale fight him even if he was deserving?

yes he deserves a shot. He has never fought for a title in his true weight division of 160. He has fought the above to earn a shot, and is the mandatory. Its not a case of Geale picking and choosing, Soliman is the mandatory. And yes Geale should fight him, prove he can beat him. Soliman has a difficult style to fight against.

And in regards to money Geale and his team are shocking at selling a promotion. Geale does nothing to sell a promotion.

Well ****. Golovkin can't seem to tie and opponent down. Maybe Sam can fight him.

Asside from that, maybe someone else in the top ten apart from Geale, and maybe when he can bring something to the table. No one rates Soliman.

    1 Sergio Gabriel Martinez 1083 50(28)-2(1)-2
1997 37 southpaw Oxnard, California, USA
    2 Daniel Geale 659 28(15)-1-0

    3 Peter Quillin 554 28(20)-0-0

    4 Gennady Golovkin 552 24(21)-0-0

Gav, I used to think you were having a bit of a laugh back in your Mundine obsession days but you've convinced me you have some mental issues with allt his harping on about Geale not fighting Soliman.

I don't ever recall you having as much of a whinge about Kessler fighting Calzaghe instead of Mundine, or Mundine moving down to MW when Kessler became his mandatory after losing to Calzaghe.

Gav all orgs are a bit corrupt. Don't know why you're getting worked up about it. Danny was rated 31 in August after being beaten by Tarver in July in the WBC CW rankings yet appeared in the top 15 the next month so he could fight Wlod. Mundine has heaps of people suddenly appear in the WBA top 15 when he holds a title who don't deserve it. You never got upset about that. Is it good for boxing? probably not but it is what it is. At least Sam will eventually get a shot. If it was the IBO he can be left in limbo indefinitely.
