Sam Soliman fought bouts to gain the No1 contender position. IBF champion Geale is due to fight his manatory Soliman by December 8. The IBF gave a special excemption for Geale to fight Mundine, to delay the mandatory. The special reason for the delay is that a Mundine fight creates more money.

Is correct? If so is it right? Is it good for boxing to have a system were an org allows a mandatory to be bypassed for a big money fight against a guy who does not even have a belt from another org? Is this good for boxing?

What the IBF are doing is corruption. Abuse of discretion, the misuse of one's powers and decision making facilities.

OOh and this is far from bad. Giving Geale a voluntary defense? Oh god the horror.

And **** Soliman he doesn't deserve a title shot. The fact that Soliman is the mandatory is worse then letting Geale have one voluntary defense.

Do explain the facts? December 8. Dodge mandatory. IBF not enforce mandatory. Geale is the golden boy, special set of rules.

Soliman beat Lorenzo better than Sylvester, just as well as Sturm. Soliman beat Wood better than Mundine. Soliman beat Albert just as well as Geale. It was a combination of these 3 most recent fights that earnt the no1 position.

The IBF nowadays are like the Red Cross compared to how they were when they started out.

All these ABC orgs suck but letting Geale have a big money fight before fighting the mandatory doesn't particularly bother me. Big money fights are good for promoting boxing in general. The problem with the IBF is that based on Wladimir, the mandatories are too many and against bummy opponents.

    2007 Ray Austin
    2008 Rahman
    2010 Sam Peter 2
    2012 Tony Thompson 2

None of these guys deserved a mandatory shot or at least there were many better boxers more deserving.
