I say Ortiz ducks Filip unless there is some real good paycheck involved. Parker v Hrgovic incoming.

I would not be surprised to see Wilder Ortizn't 3.
So lets have Hrgovic v Parker or Joyce for the final elim.

I can't see Ortiz taking it, they already passed on Hrgovic before and after how he struggled with Martin, I can't see why they'd be more inclined to now.

Parker vs Hrgovic should be easier to make as both signed with Matchroom and probably more lucrative with Parker's profile among UK fans bringing in more revenue. Parker usually isn't the type to avoid tough fights so lets hope this happens.

We'll get to see how Hrgovic handles an old past it heavyweight. I'm sort of surprised that Ortiz would take this fight, I wonder if he sees something in Hrgovic that he thinks he can exploit or maybe he thinks this is his best cash out option.

That tweet above is 2 days old and irrelevant.
Sauerland already confirmed that Ortiz declined.

That's what I'd have advised Ortiz, that fight does nothing for hm. I can't see Ortiz catching Usyk if they fought but Joshua? If King Kong caught him with the same punch he hit Martin with he'd go but AJ should be able to outbox the old man.

Yes, and now Joseph Parker has been offered the opportunity instead. A much more intriguing fight if you ask me.

Who has Hrgovic beaten in his short pro career to be in an eliminator. He’s a big lump, but a very poor finisher, going by that stoppage in Spain, 2 fights ago. Unbeaten in 14 fights against nobodies, is hardly a qualification is it? Even Wilder had more “fights” than the hulking Hrgovic before getting a crack at an alpha belt.
It must be the dearth of class heavyweights outside of Usyk & Fury, that has forced the IBF to become so desperate.
Further evidence as to it being one of, if not the poorest, divisions, talent wise!

Everyone in the top 15 of the IBF refused to fight Hrgovic. Fair enough, as he isn’t a big money fight and punches extremely hard.

I think Parker beats him though. Parker is too well-seasoned and been the distance several times. Hrgovic needs a fighter below Parker to see whether he’s ready, someone like Bakole, Rivas or Ortiz.

Problem is fighters at the level below which Hrgovic should step up against, don't want to fight him. He's all risk no reward and if Hrgovic is to progress he's going to have to take a risk or be left outside looking in again.

Parker is far more experienced but I don't think this is an easy fight for Parker. Hrgovic isn't Chisora, he's bigger, stronger, hits harder, in his prime and far more dangerous. But I also think Hrgovic is pretty easy to hit, if this new aggressive Parker can push Hrgovic back and out work him then maybe he can take Hrgovic into deep waters and sink him.

I'm pretty sure that Ortiz and Hrgovic used to spar or at least work in the gym together in Miami. If Ortiz takes this, he probably thinks he can win. There are other options out there for him.
