I didn’t see that fight so I’m not going to debate the scoring, but punch stats are basically useless in ‘exposing’ scoring — they call everything that’s not a jab a ‘power punch’ as if a powderpuff right hand is better than say a Holmes or Quartey jab and don’t consider the effectiveness of a punch at all. Not to mention that the various entities that do it have also been ‘exposed’ because their count often doesn’t mirror what we can see on film — they’re either too high or too low sometimes.

Furthermore, I’ve seen people tout total numbers as evidence a guy won a fight ignoring the distribution of those punches by round … Fighter A can outland Fighter B by 100 punches but do more of his work in five rounds and the other guy could edge seven of them and win.

If you threw up meaningless numbers as me to show that I didn’t score the fight the way you think it should have been scored, I’d laugh to myself but not respond because IMO the only thing you’d be exposing is that you don’t understand how scoring works so there’s no reason to further the discussion.

    I think you mis-understood me.

For a quick reply, If one has the punch stats break down by round, and they show a further breakdown of power punchers and jab it aid in checking the official score by round. These are not meaningless numbers. I have noticed that it rare for one fighter to dominate the action in a fighter for the majority of rounds without scoring a knockdown and lose. We score a fight by rounds not for a one round where on fighter won really big. Or lost really big. They are the same score 10-9 in almost all cases. Can you name one fight where a guy dominated the punch stats by round and lost? I can name several, they are often bad decisions.

I know the how to score a fight, and again I used the punch stats not to score them, but the expose bad judging...and this goes for fan fans too I hope that explains things. Believe me I know how to score a fight. I have been watching boxing for over 40 years.

Why dont you become a professional judge if your as good as you say?

Not many scored it for him on the night and there's some good scorers on here

There is little $ in it and too much politics and travel in it. Not exactly a fit for a married guy with kids in elementary school. Maybe some day when I retire, I will. Who scored it for Zhang here? I like to see his card, and match it with mine.

I notice that the same people that hated the Klitschkos hate Hrgovic.

Man that sucks!!! I wanted Usyk to have all 5 major belts at once. That’s never been done at Heavyweight! WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO and Ring. Damn

It would be classic BS to strip Usyk before he gets to fight Fury in Feb/March.
