I'm not going to print all of the quotes here because I got in trouble for something like that the other day, but here is a summary of what the article says (it was written 10.31.08, shortly after Tavoris Cloud earned the mandatory challenger spot by defeating Julio Gonzalez via 10th round TKO):

    * Cloud's manager says Dawson is afraid of Cloud

    * Cloud says he got the better of Dawson is a sparring session and gave Dawson a black eye

    * Cloud wasn't impressed with Dawson's showing against Tarver

    * Cloud says Dawson has no chin and Team Dawson knows it

    * Cloud tells Dawson to man up and defend his belt

Anything about nobody supposedly wanting to face Chad Dawson is simply false. As was the case with his WBC mandatory Adrian Diaconu, Chad Dawson seems prepared to drop yet another title (IBF) to fight an aged, apparently shot fighter in Antonio Tarver.

When people start screaming for heavyweight unification, you tell them you wish Chad Dawson felt the same way about the light heavyweight belts.

If Dawson does follow through on rematching Tarver, these will be the ages of the opponents in the last 3 Dawson fights:

    39
    39
    40

Chad Dawson is 26 years old. Adrian Diaconu is 30 years old, and Tavoris Cloud is 26 years old. Another fighter Dawson continues to try to get a fight with, Joe Calzaghe, will be 37 in March.

Gonzales gave Clinton Woods two very hard fights, losing both by close but clear UD.

Cloud ****ing destroyed him, though he may have been slightly faded.

I would bet on Cloud to catch Dawson at some stage, IMO he isn't blessed with a McCall-esque beard.

Cloud would spark Dawson, Im a big fan(obviously) but the problem is he's even less well known than Chad, HBO wont put a Dawson-Cloud fight on. He's probably gonna end up with the Woods/Marqui(however the **** you spell it) winner

I have a feeling Tavoris is the hidden gem in American boxing.

Cloud should be glad he doesn't have to face Dawson right now, Dawson would just give him his first loss & a huge setback. Cloud is the future, but he needs to develope his skills more. He's already got the power, but his skills still need crafting.

I don't really have a problem with Dawson's choice. Tarver had a rematch clause, granted he could have put him off, but there'll be more money in another one with Tarver and Cloud likely isn't going anywhere. Will the Cloud-Dawson fight be worse off for Dawson having just KO'd Tarver? Not likely.

Even before he fought Johnson and Tarver, Dawsons standard of opposition was questionable to say the least.

There is no FEELING about it.

Cloud is the man - this is coming from a Brit.

The fact that there is no hype at all only emphasises it further ala Tim Bradley.

Agreed. Cloud is the future but Dawson is the present.

I like how Dawson is a "ducker" despite the fact that Kessler and Hopkins have both turned down fights against him.

Dawson isn't any worse than anybody else.

He ducked Diaconu, no question about it - for reasons I am sure Americans would understand ;)

I would love Cloud to fight and beat Dawson, but I don't think the first will happen anytime soon and I don't think the second will happen if it does.

They had a fight scheduled. Diaconu got hurt. Much like how he got hurt before his fight against Rico Hoye.
