He's already number 1 contender for Alvarez and for two years he's not been granted a fight.

If he beats the Nail he'll be number 1 contender for the winner of Beterbiev and Bivol where he's more likely to secure a fight for the championship.

 

Right ,Quacknelo has already ducked him for 2 years, he's made it clear by his actions that he's ducking him.

 

I just checked their website and he's not ranked at 168.

I don't know why but part of me thinks that the only reason for giving this guy the mandatory shot for Canelo is just because of his name alone. I guess Scull just sounds like a threatening enough opponent.
