oh please, Toney doesn't want the fight as the TS said, if Toney really wanted to fight a champ he'd take fights to line himself up for one of the Alphabet titles

You have a point though, undeserving shots at the title have been handed out left and right, it really makes you believe Toney would be closer to a shot if he actually boxed on a more regular basis.

You seem to have a point here. I am pretty sure James does not care if the IBF does not sanction the bout as he just wants Klitschko. As it is a voluntary defense, I don't know why Wlad should care.

I mean , the bout could take place just for the WBO belt, this would not make the bout less attractive so I don't understand this whole story. Does it mean that the WBO also refuses to sanction the bout, this would then of course matter?

I'm a Toney fan but even I wouldn't want to see this fight.

He was WBC No.1 contender back then and was waiting his rematch with Rahman.

Situation was little bit different. If judges wouldn’t have robbed him and he would have won WBC belt. He would have make loads of money with Klitchko unification, instead of just fighting him for 1.5 million.

I don't understand this. The bout could take place just for the WBO belt. As it is a voluntary defense, neither Toney, Klitschko or even the public should care if the IBF belt is involved.

Do you actually believe he has, or is it more likely that he is just going to get beaten - badly.

Toney actually would have a shot to go 12 rounds, if he would have shaken off the ring rust by facing quality opposition like Tony Thompson for instance. Ring activity would also have forced him to keep his weight down instead of ballooning up in his long lay offs.
An unprepared, undercondtionned version of Toney, will obviously get killed by Klitschko.

It is just that I do not understand the reasons. Why not make Wlad-Toney for the WBO belt?Do you believe that the sanctioning of the IBF for this fight has been a condition for the Wlald camp?

bullcrap! they gave Rocky a shot at Mason Dixon, and he was medically retired after he beat Drago and ended the cold war.

Toney - Wlad would be one hell of an interesting fight while it lasted. Toney is a lazt fat f--k but he is a great boxer. Wlad is so careful but he may feel compelled to chase a guy who is going to stand in front of him and say "hit me you giant eastern-bloc f--****". Not sure if Toney has the power to keep Wlad honest, if not, he will take a few very very big shots, because his chin is granite.

I agree. I think it should happen. Make it a WBO defense only without the IBF belt on the line. I don't think they can strip him as he's just had a mando in Peter.
