Are you really that ignorant?Toney has been trying to fight the Klits for years now, yet you claim Klits offered him several deals which is absolutely untrue.
I am not convinced anymore that Wlad will fight in December. He can't find an opponent, so it looks that he will face Povetkin next year. As for Wlad-Toney, I still have a little hope that it will happen. But the problem I see with James is that he has been inactive since more than a year and only fought, by December, 2 rounds in the last 20 months or so. Plus, with his UFC adventure, he has not been in the gym regularly.Toney may be better off to face a tune up in Detroit in December et a low weight and then Vitali (not Wlad) next year.I think has a better shot against Vitali than Wlad.
Vitali or Haye would without a doubt suit better for Toneys style, but at this point Toney can’t exactly pick champion he wants to face. Going in line for mandatory shot would take too much time, so only option is getting shot in voluntary defense Wasn’t Toney supposed to defend his title in November?
Why wasn't Toney a bit more active, certainly by fighting a random bum every other month he could have kept a top 15 rating, just like Briggs did with the WBC.
He chose to fight in UFC and thats why they dropped him out of the rankings. I think he would bounce back top-15, if he would beat just one random bum
:huh Where are you getting these numbers? Toney was only a major titlist at MW, SMW and CW, unless you count the fourth one, which is off the record books as it stands. That's four weight classes at most, counting the Ruiz fight at heavy. Also four times at most. You're honestly not counting things like the IBA are you? I mean...honestly? What are you counting?
November in Detroit. But as always, Toney's fight will not be scheduled until Klitschko has found an opponent.
Instead of fighting in UFC, Toney a bum in boxing. One fight would habe enough to secure him the title shot.
Former IBF middleweight Champion, Former IBF super middleweight champion, Former USBA light heavyweight champion, Former WBU light heavyweight champion, Former WBU cruiserweight champion, Former IBA Super Cruiserweight champion, Former IBO cruiseweight Champion, Former IBF Cruiserweight Champion, Former WBA Heavyweight Champion, Current two time IBA Heavyweight Champion of a world.
This is how legends are born. This is how Teddy Atlas turned out to have brough up 18 world champions.
Toney should get in shape first, show what he's got left in the tank and than challenge Klitschko. It simply doesn't work the other way around...
If Toney wasn't so lazy he could have fought a few bums and got himself ranked. That is exactly what Briggs did this year and what Rahman did in the past. Toney needs to retire, his slurring in the post Couture interview was just sad.
