I think that says more about the terrible IBF ratings than it does anything else. Most of the time, they can't even find 10 guys to include in their top 10.

If you had to list the 10 best fighters in the entire division, how many of them do you see in the IBF ratings?

After Andre Ward left, I'd probably include Sergey Kovalev, Artur Betterbiev, Adonis Stevenson, Dmitry Bivol, Badou Jack, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Marcus Browne, Eleider Alvarez, Joe Smith, Sullivan Barrera ... among the top 10 light heavys. (But I don't follow the division too closely. It's not that interesting at the moment.)

    Who does the IBF rate?

    1. NOT RATED
    2. NOT RATED
    3. Marcus Browne
    4. Jurgen Brahmer
    5. Dominic Bosel
    6. Frank Buglioni
    7. Anthony Yarde
    8. Travis Reeves
    9. Meng Fanlong
    10. Enrico Kolling
    11. Karo Mura
    12. Michael Lee
    13. Sean Monaghan
    14. Blake Caparello
    15. Robert Parzecezewski

The WBA sucks because they have two or three WBA champs in every division, and most of their contenders are bad. But at least they can field a top 10.

The IBF is just a bad organization. It has been for the past 25 years.

Still waiting for Czar Glazkov - the man the IBF loved so much they stripped Tyson Fury weeks after beating Wlad - to make his glorious return.

I knew that Beterbiev getting a belt wont help his situation at all.First he had shoulder injury and lost an year then drama with his promoter and Barrera fight fell apart and now everybody even with title is still avoiding him and it doesnt seem like unification is possibility too.Shame because he is amazing fighter but no money involved.

He’s still with GYM right? I think that has a lot to do with it as well. They’re the same promotion that’s helped Adonis hold the title without fighting a single real challenge lol.

It's as if the universe is telling Beterbiev that he needs to fight someone with a pulse for once.

So is this official? Have we decided that Beterbiev has reappropriated "AB" from Broner?

    ...I'm cool with that.

Its not GYM if the fighter is signed with Big Al then the promoter has no say in
    1. Who he fights
    2. Where he fights
    3. Getting TV deals done

But yea blame the Canadians like you're from South Park or something lol

I dont know if people remember but GYM tried to make Stevenson vs Alvarez last December, then in January, even booked an Arena ...but for some reason Al didnt want it

Now people probably havent noticed but the May 19 bout between Stevenson vs Badou Jack still doesnt have a venue. First when this fight was announced Yvon Michel said it will be held at Bell Centre in Montreal.
    Not anymore

Does Al want to stage the fight in Toronto ? Can the pimp fight in the US ?
Who knows, but 6 weeks out, theres no venue, no hype, nothing.

The Top 15 should just drop their keys into a fishbowl and let Beterbiev grab a handful. Whoever's keys get grabbed, their wives get the Beter-Rod.

Yes, its just Beterbiev, but how many people in the Top 20 can actually beat Beterbiev? How many have even a modicum of faith in their chins that they can take his punch, or that they're average boxing skills can hold him off or negate his obvious physical advantages?

    Here's the reality, not many.

The same assessments we come to, that Beterbiev vs. Gvozdyk, Bivol , Ward and Kovalev are competitive fights.

Beterbiev vs. everyone else at Light Heavyweight.... are not competitive fights.

Is the same conclusion the majority of fighters at 175 have come to.:D

And Kovalev was a well known dominant champ with tons of HBO coverage, at least someone saw them being KTFO, and they got some cash for their troubles, Beterbiev, no one will care, no one will see it, and they'll get half the money.

He's too dangerous and there's no money in a fight with him.
So, for his opponents it's a horrendous extremely high risk/very low reward opportunity.
