Kotelnik beat him but I thought Matthysee was a close fight which could have went either way.

Be blinded by records if you must, Alexander to me lost against Kotelnik and Lucas and cracked under adversity against Bradley, At least brook showed he could come through adversity against Jones , who i think is very underated, many of those losses were through bad management early on in his career taking too many fights at short notice.

i'll give you Urango, but that now seems a bit flukey, also Urango was putting hands on Alexander up until the stoppage.

I think Eddie can take Alexander out by making sure he wins the bid, I just don't think Team Alexander will want to come over here at all, if Hearn wins the bid I can see him vacating to fight Malignaggi for his version of the title.

That would leave Brook free to fight for the vacant title against whomever the sanctioning body see fit.

Have to say he was woefully disappointing the other night, really thought he would step it up against Bailey after a few rounds but he just seemed to lack confidence and was very fearful of the power of Bailey, despite him throwing little in the fight.

 

After watching these back i agree with you. I am more confident Kell will win, however still won't write Alexander off if the fight is in England or US.

 

It's one of those that sound unrealistic but if you look at it step by step each step/fight could very well go that way!

He's won three titles all against B-tier 'names' but each of those names are considerably better than say Carson Jones or N'Dou. Just because DA has lost doesn't mean Brook has more potential or a better record. I'm pretty sure that Brook will neither unify nor win belts at two weights so IMO people are doing DA a disservice.

Another point about Bailey: I think his last two fights do show he is shot, he looked like he simply couldn't pull the trigger (kind of like Mosley is these days). He's never had great workrate but his output over the previous two fights was shockingly bad. I think he struck lucky against Jones (last thing to go is the punch) and the KO covered for his lethargic, gunshy output in the first 9/10 rounds. He's done IMO.

I'm a cynic so I think the mandatory will be easily avoided WBC-style because a Hatton fight makes more in sanctioning fees than either Alexander/Maidana. Hatton, should he beat Senchenko will become WBA #1, 100%.

Also, Malignaggi wants the Hatton fight more than anything. We could see this in New York to please/appease Golden Boy. That fight gives the Barclays Centre and Golden Boy big brownie points!
