Just lol at IBF. This is really dumb move. Why the f**** you are trying to force someone to stay inactive, cause his opponent is injured? Of course he will wanna fight, and not wait for his opponent injury to heal.

Absolutely garbage decision by the IBF.
I hope Opetaia throw the belt, as it will be 100% meaningless without him. Everyone knows who the man at CW currently is.

    IBF are scum

They will strip Fury Usyk winner also LOL

    Screw them. Worthless plastic belts.

Fighters will always pick $$$ over a plastic belt. AJ could fight for a belt next year but will likely be forced to get chinned by Wilde instead for the $$$.

The fight was announced almost a month ago, why did they wait so long before saying this? And isn't Briedis still injured? Trash

    Drop the belt

You don't have to pay their dumb fees anymore

This is a case of the fighter being bigger than the belt

Why reject it now only two weeks out. . They obviously sanctioned the fight , that could have been months ago. Is Bredis even ready to fight now. Why can't it be Opetaia's next fight? Doesn't make any sense

Opetaia should drop the belt & go ahead with the fight, he is the # 1 CW with or without the belt & can win it back later on if he wants

or may be make it a non title fight if that's an option

    Grubs!!!

Jai should strip them for the disrespect. Boxing Orgs are dime a dozen. IBF are a waste of space around a fighters waist anyway

Jai said that they asked Briedis but Briedis wasn't ready for 23rd. Jai flew to London thinking it was gonna be Briedis actually but accepted Zorro as this is a big card & a chance to get his name out there. He said he was hoping that the Briedis rematch will happen in Feb (may be on the same card as Fury vs Usyk?)

He's getting 680k AUD for a tune up. No way he keeps the belt. I don't think Jai has had many pay days yet anyway

    Probably risking 2m

What happens if they make it a non title fight? Can the IBF still strip him?

But ya his competition before Briedis wasn't big & his name wasn't known outside Aus, NZ, & Samoa. So this might be his biggest payday yet & I also expect him to go ahead with the fight

Hope Prince Turki makes the IBF an offer they can't refuse

Briedis is injured and Jai will be ready to rematch him in the first quarter of 2024

There is zero chance of Zorro pulling off the upset

This is a huge opportunity and payday for Jai

And if Briedis wasn't injured he would've fought him on this date instead

    What a joke

Just drop the stupid belt and take the payday.

Why do organisation's continue to do stuff like this? It's a tune up before fighting who they want to fight, there a voluntary fights like this all the time.

Like I said in the Heavyweight and Cruiserweight thread, it seems like the IBF just couldn't wait til February to start passing on a parade. It's apparently supposed to be the first in a 2 million dollar 3 fight contract for the Saudis, so Opetaia should just tell them to go screw and do the fight anyways.
