I didn't know that. Though I'd think that it was a money issue more then an injury issue.

It's really useless. They should just make one champion each weight class. Much like the UFC, nobody questions who is the best fighter in each weight class in the ufc cuz there's only one champion.:good

That sure is a difference but why not just have a dkb belt. (don king boxing) then it would be similar to how small the UFC really is. Boxing would be similar to a world wide mma organization, which doesn't exist.

Getting a 12 inch dildo up the ass; getting cancer; having a stroke; or poking one of your eyes out and eating it?

No on the contrary you'll find alot of old school guys dont. The WBO are the most farcical of all the belts because there champions historically have always been poor in comparison to the others. Even if someone notable does hold their belt its only for a short period of time and normally used as leverage for something else. Back in the 90's Warren jumped all over the WBO. Much like he did the WBU.

The IBO has a computerised ranking system that awards fighters points according to wins and losses. But there very much a fringe organisation. There champions also have been a joke and their belt frequently just happens to be vacant when a big fight is on the line.

about the weight classes : sorry , but it is fine as it is.
about the organizations - let us be the first who will refrain to call someone who has some belt a champion just because he has a belt.
also , the organizations' problem met it partial solution already by the rise of things like PPV (and youtube, metacaffe, myspace, google videos, yahoo videos, etc to balance it) , TV-network contracts - like HBO , etc. so , if enough of the public/fans are smart enough and the fighters , promoters will stand their ground - like johnson and tarver both making a mockery of the sanctioning bodies and relinquishing their belts in order to fight each other for both money and the SMART recognition , and there are more examples like mccallum vs. toney1 , tarver/dawson1 , etc (i am sure that there are more).
then the organizations will finally fall from financial reasons - of course others will come instead - or - a less corrupt management will take over - epocalyptic vision , really , i tend to believe it won't happen.

It would be best if there was one champion per division, but that is not how it works.
Every now and again I will go over who all the tittlests are and see who I thin i the best. Despite of it's flaws I find more often than not that The WBC belt holders are usuly best.

The WBC has lost much of it's prestige the last couple of years, and they can only blame themselves for that. They're just greedy businessmen who don't care for the sport, with their interim champs, emeritus champs, and now 'diamond' champs... same with the WBA, with their 'super' champs and 'regular' champs, plus they let promoters like Don King or Sauerland influence their politics. The WBO doesn't have the same history as the WBC or the other, and they generally (not always) have weak mandatories and weaker rankings than the other organizations in a lot of weight classes, but at least they're more honest than the WBC or the WBA. I guess I rate them even above the WBC or the WBA at this point.

That leaves the IBF, who are the most prestigeous even if they're far from perfect too.

I don't give credit to all these belts per se . . . I give credit to the man behind the belt.

Like for example Mosley as WBA title holder and Cotto as WBO title holder at 147 . . . I respect. Devon Alexander as WBC, Juan Urango as IBF and Tim Bradley as WBO ttitle holder at 140 . . . yes. JMM as WBO title holder at 135 and Humberto Soto as WBC Title holder at 130 . . . yes.

But Valuev, Sturm and Calderon as title holders . . . NO.

They are all a disgrace. The WBA is perhaps the most disgraceful at the moment, and the WBC diamond belt I genuinely thought was an ironic **** take of the ABC's.

    They are all utterly disgraceful.

The IBF is the worst. After Dawson won the IBF title from Tarver, they forced Dawson to immediately fight Cloud or fight Tarver's rematch clause. The IBF basically controls a boxers career, they are so ****ed up and unfair, it's unbelievable. They stripped Dawson of the title just because he wouldn't agree to their rules, and now Tavoris Cloud and Clinton Woods are fighting for a belt that they don't deserve.
