IBF, WBC, WBO, WBA: Membership?

    If I look up the rankings of the fighters at the IBF/WBC/WBO/WBA homepages, they differs greatly. Some names are ranked highly on one page, and are missing alltogether at the listing of another organization.

    To get a title shot at one of the belts, you need to be ranked by one of the sanctioning bodies. Do you need a membership for this?

    No you just have to fight the guys in their ranks to get ranked and earn a shot

    For some reason Frank Warren fighters are ranked high on the WBO rankings

    Yeah, you will probably notice that a lot of good and highly ranked UK fighters not promoted by FW are not in the higher WBO rankings.

    Since M'Baye etc, the WBA titles are more available in the UK than they ever were.
