    I see Joshua getting stripped

Joshua will fight Whyte instead in April. And that is not a unification or mandatory so I can't see the IBF allowing him to fight Whyte instead of Hughie / Pulev.

    Where is this from?

He did fight his IBF mandatory Takam not so long ago, surely it's not time again yet?

Why would he not fight the winner. He gets a guaranteed huge pay day because I have to assume it is in his contract, and he gets an easy fight. Why give up a belt for no reason.

Unless, of course, y'know, he doesn't have the belt anymore.

Love the way Povetkin is being overlooked.

No, Joshua will do whatever is necessary to keep his IBF belt.

A Fury-Joshua fight would be bigger in the UK than a Whyte-Joshua rematch.

I think Whyte is just a back-up choice as an opponent anyway. He's there for next year if they need him.

I heard it in an interview somewhere but actually reading the IBFs rules, a mandatory challenger will be named every 9 months, and the fighters will have 60 days to arrange to fight after the mandatory is named. Takam was 11 months ago so the IBF could call the mandatory fight as soon as Pulev Fury is over.

They can ask for an exception in the case of a unification bout. Pretty sure Hearn has done that before.

Think it's obvious which fight I was referring to, whether or not that happens is something else.

forget about mandatory as BCS8 pointed out povetkin is a big obstacle

    as to IBF mandatory
as everyone else on the board i dislike the politics and blatant manipulation of ABCS

the fact that the IBF have all there 1st and 2nd positions vacant and you can only get a number 1 or 2 slot by paying the IBF fees and not on merit IMO devalues there mandatorys.

as joshua beat takam as a mandatory when pulev pulled / its going to be hard for team pulev to enforce a mandatory if he beats fury for at least another year .
