No Curry or Archer, bad.

COSELL? Very, very bad.

 

As popular a target for bashing as Cosell is, the fact remains that he's far too big a part of boxing's history to be excluded.

Very pleased to see Miske get in. Not entirely sold on Larry Hazzard or Rocky Kansas as HOFers.

As a referee, Hazzard was something of a flamboyant distraction, entirely too physically involved in the matches he officiated. I agree that a referee should have athletic ability if needed, but he shouldn't be continually flaunting it. When Mercante said, "Break!" the fighters broke. Diminutive Mills Lane did a superb job managing Holmes-Cooney, and I don't buy Hazzard preceding him into Canastota. Padilla and Perez also have seniority over Hazzard. (I should mention here that I don't necessarily believe Perez was a good enough referee to belong in this company, but he was a big part of the sport for longer than Hazzard.)

Danny Lopez was overdue, but he did get in on what was apparently his initial nomination.

 

Surprised that Chang made it.

Marshall was long overdue.

 

"Little Red" was (along w' Cuevas), the hardest single puncher I ever saw and along w/ Duran, the nicest fighter I ever met. Finkle belongs in the bathroom w/ the King ans Suliman plaques. Personally, I'd put Hazzard there also. Mr. LOOKATME singlehandedly help destroy boxing in A. C. :hat

 

About time Lloyd Marshall was inducted

Really happy with the Lopez and Chang being inducted. Been watching Lopez recently.
What a fighter! Head to head he gives any feather in history a fight.
