http://www.ibhof.com/ The International Boxing Hall of Fame annual induction weekend starts today in Upstate NY. Is anyone on here attending? I've been there, but not in an induction weekend. it's a pretty cool place. They've got tons of memorabilia. Hilario Zapata and Hector Camacho are finally getting in. It's a shame Camacho didn't live to see his induction. He probably would have been the center of attention, per usual.
I was actually just there on Saturday. There were a few reporters there doing a story about Muhammad Ali's passing. Pretty cool that they have the actual ring from Frazier-Ali I set up at the IBHOF. I wanted to go for the induction weekend, but, the timing just didn't work out. They were setting up all the tents for this weekend, and the owner of the IBHOF was a very nice dude. I agree, Hector would have definitely spiced up the proceedings if he were still alive. His Indian head dress and robe are prominently displayed there. I will try to make it happen next year. Unless Evander makes an ill advised comeback, he is a lock to be a first ballot hall of famer next year. And, I am still holding out hope that Julian Jackson might get the call.
