I think we,re getting to the stage belts are irrelevant. Its a great idea having world champions etc but all of them have basically been corrupted as the years went on. If they weren't always corrupted anyway.

They,ve been devalued so much their basically meaningless. If you don't move things forward it basically just allows people to corrupt things. They,d be better concentrating on these tournaments now...super six. The wbss. Get the best fighting the best. Aknowledging the winner of these as opposed to half of these champs getting soft touch opportunities.

The truth is gavin was,nt good enough for world level. Kind of hoping he does win it and makes a few quid off the back of it....wouldn't,t begrudge a boxer that. But the reality is...their giving titles away nowadays depending on who,s promoters gets them the best opportunities. The best way to judge a fighter is by his record. Best wins etc.

To the fan a world titles pretty much irrelevant its more about politics of boxing.

 

noone recognises it apart form the IBO.

Which is kinda like me awarding myself a World Herolgee Belt and then recognising it.

Depends on who's holding it. It's a legit belt in that division if someone legit is holding it (Golovkin, Joshua, Eubank Jr). If David Price holds it, I wouldn't consider him a legit champion.
