The IBO has ordered an immediate rematch for IBO Super Featherweight Champ Billy Dib against Zolani Marali after a review of the bout. It appears doubtful it will happen tho, as Dib is slated to face Steven Luevano in USA for the WBO Featherweight Title in early October.
A bit of common sense...great to see. I think your right Kegs, Dib wont fight him again and will prefer to drop the title so he can be referred to as the "unbeaten, former IBO superfeatherweight champ". Im really glad Dib is getting a shot at Luevano but his last fight will always be a loss in my mind.
Is Dib's IBO belt up for grabs against Luevano? If he doesn't vacate the belt and loses it to Luevano, the rematch with Marali is kind of moot without a strap on the line. Hows this one going to play out???
My guess is that by going for another org's strap in another division he will forfeit his title. Mr Austin care to clear this up, sir?
Yep exactly. U watch Marali fight for the vacant IBO Super Featherweight Strap now that Dib's fighting at featherweight against Luevano.
Bloody hell! get caught up with work and this happens haha! They must rematch within 90 days. 30 days to come to terms. Emaid Dib still professes no knowledge of this other bout and all fights for Billy must be approved by him as per their contract with GBP. My view is, if he does not take the rematch, he will be stripped of the title. Perfect Jet old son you owe me a diet coke!
I most certainly do. I'l make it a jug of coke, a coffee, cappa, latte...whatever you desire Phil. I was a bit out of line so with it comes an unreserved apology. I wouldn't have bet with your money that the IBO would take this path. I'm still shocked to be honest. lol. IBO's credibility just went skyward. :good As for Dib's camp denying any knowledge of this fight, as I said in this thread or the other one Phil...Cameron Dunkin who manages Luevano has confirmed Dib as their opponent. I got that today from a very close source to Dunkin. Maybe he has been thrown a curve ball...who knows. Again, apologies for my unrelenting but obviouly unfounded attack on the IBO. One icey cold jug of diet coke coming up....
Thanks Perfect Jet, your apology is accepted. I had full faith in the system but then I know more about it. It is the reason I am with the IBO: if they make a promise they always keep their word. I won't bore you with a long story!
Cheers. I should have taken you seriously when you said the IBO would right a wrong if they needed to. Are you going to the Kats/Diaz figth Phil?
Would love to Perfect Jet, but have to sit this dance out which is a bummer: It's gunna be a ******* I reckon
