I firmly believe it should have been called a KD. Ask yourself this, would Mandy have 'slipped', had he not just been hit.:think I've watched the incident a 'few' times now, and I honestly believe he wouldn't have.:bart OTOH, I can see that at the live event it's much harder for the ref to call as it's happening, he doesn't have the luxury of watching it several times. I do find it strange that the panel of judges didn't call it a KD though. Or are they only allowed to judge with one viewing only? In any case, Geale will win the rematch, so I can stop whining after that. :|
Bollocks to put it quite simply Yes he would have gone over, he lost traction on the painted logo and his feet went out from under him, he did not go backwards from the momentum of the punch which would have actually made a case for a KD. I am all for the tripping over a left hook train of thought but there was no momentum of the punch that caused him to go. The judges can ONLY score a knockdown if it is called as such by the referee, so they would not have credited Gealey with an extra point. The knockdown issue was mentioned in the appeal, it was reviewed and it was ruled that Garry Dean's ruling was correct. I am pleased that we are going over this again months down the track, I'm not over it at all!
I don't believe he would have. But no one can ever really know that, it's pure speculation. BS, of course it was the momentum. A blind man can see that when watching the footage. Granted it wasn't a lot, however it was enough to make him back up and slip. Ok. ....................... Wouldn't have it any other way. :tong
