To be fair I put Sultan and Oleg in the same boat as far as being weak. But yes I agree with you about Ruslan beating Sultan.

IMO Oleg Maskaev is the most limited of the current beltholders. Maskaev is strong and experienced but he seems so slow and he's also kind of old for boxing, plus he's been KOed by journeymen.

Chagaev is impressive to a degree. He handled Ruiz and Valuev fairly well and he racked up a lot of wins in significant amatuer tournaments. He has basically a counterpunching style that relies heavily on answering a left jab with his own southpaw overhand left, wicked stuff alright except Ibragimov doesn't have a left jab.

Klitschko is big, powerful, fast. accuracte puncher, experienced and so forth but his worst defeat came at the from a southpaw with fast hands and a hard punch. Plus the big Ukrainian has some scar tissue around his eyes that could be opened up by Ibragimov's old school punching technique, pronating the fist as it lands on his opponent's face.

How does Ibragimov fit into all this? Well he gives fans of old school boxing something to cheer about. Fast,High workrate, goes to the body, takes a hard shot and comes right back with bad intentions. Plus, he's not particularly big, okay six feet one inch, two-twenty lbs isn't small but compared to Klitschko...and Ibragimov doesn't have the physique of some artistic masterpiece of an Italian sculpture. Ibragimov has a tall order in unifying the heavyweight title. I can't say that I favour him as the one to do it but I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility.

To sum it all up, the current era of heavyweights could actually be one of the better heavyweight epochs providing the top heavyweights fight each other and Chagaev vs Ibragimov is a definite step in the right direction.

Maskaev gets little credit for what he's done to Rahman, who before that beat Toney, and knocked out Meehan, who beat up Brewster, who in turn beat Wlad...the currently number 1 ranked heavyweight.

How about that...Maskaev is da man, although he has almost no chance against Peter.
