Ranked high by WBC. Term credibility is against WBC policy. I just checked his record and he won a SD over Tipton Walker 13-7-0(whoever the f*ck it is) before he fought the eliminator with Toney. So, these days an impressive arm reach makes one a promissing HW, ha?:rofl Please, stop as you are digging yourself a large hole with your baseless replies.
I admit I was wrong about him retiring because of the Toney beating, just admit he was ranked high enough to get a WBC eliminator match. If it was the WBO I could see your *****, but the WBC is a real belt held by fighters like Lewis and Vitali. Rydell had impressive hand speed with a good amateur background who began his career at Heavyweight and eneded his career at Heavyweight, he was a good prospect.:yep
Honestly, considering the Masakev/Peter/Klitshko saga, I rate wbc as the worst organization out of all 4 jokers(wba, ibf and wbo). Their ratings mean sh*t. They currently have Donell Holmes in their top 10:nut So how Booker was placed so high in their pathetic ratings only the "saint" Jose Suliman knows. I'll repeat myself again, Booker was not even in top 50 when he fought Toney because he never fought let alone won against a live body.
I will agree he never fought anyone, but who did Lamon Brewster beat to get a shot at Wlad in 04, he had a 15 month lay off before that. It doesnt take much to get ranked now adays, all I was saying that he was ranked in the top 20. I would put WBC as the 3rd most credible belt, with only the WBA and IBF ahead of it.
All org's have rankings that magically change depending on the amount of money on offer. Look at Corrie Sanders flying up after beating Wlad (on the back on a potential rematch/big bro vengeance match). Yes, he beat Wlad, but it didn't do the same for Ross Purrity did it? Holy has benfitted **** knows how many times, as has Tyson. Look at the IBF, and the "mandatories" Wlad has fought. WBA? Please, how shameful were their rankings when Ruiz was champ? Golota? He must have some pretty serious dirt on a lot of people the amount of times he's failed, yet reappeared in another orgs top 5.
You are absolutely right, all these corrupt entities suck and now we can throw the Ring into that pile of garbage as well. However, Booker fighting an elimiantor was one of the most outrageous elimiators I've ever seen.
Yeah, that was a shocker. Mind you having McCall fight a "title eliminator" was pretty funny too, considering Peter and Toney had just fought one, and Vitlay was babbling on about his "emeritus" status. hey, we've got 2 mandatory challengers, why not make a third??????
OMFG atsch Just imagine if Wlad fought a promising prospect like Booker... these very posters would have drowned him ****
The guy is nothing more than above-average heavyweight, if anyone doesn't see that, than there not a real boxing fan. If he takes on any of the past greats he would get schooled and get beaten badly.
You're right. He has fought Ray Austin...just like Iggy...except Iggy got a draw, and Wlad blew him out like a fringe contender. And he did fight Calvin Brock, a top ten fighter.
..............but he lacks the size, firepower, and mental toughness to be a long reigning new heavy weight champ. He drawed with Austin, went the full route with Osokin, couldnt take out that old geezer Holyfield, and looked quite mediocre against that stiff and slow version of Shannon Briggs who wouldnt have gone more than 2 rounds with either Wlad.
