Ibragimov Klitschko fight almost finalized

    So just cause you don't see this one, single fight as being competitive, you don't think these two titles should be brought together for the LONG TERM good of the division???

    Sounds like you have no foresight on this, and you only live for the moment...........

    Think more long term. Sure, it won't mean complete unification in one fiight, but its a start, and it'll mean one of three unification fights out of the way. One third of the unification will be complete, in this one fight. Look at it that way, even if you like the particular matchup or not, look towards the titles being brought together, rather than how competitive the fight may not be.

    The importance of this monumental fight is not about Wlad having a competitive fight with Ibrag, no. Its about the IBF being unified with the WBO. The winner may get around to fighting the other titleholders, but first things first. You can't get the exact sequence of unification fights that you want when we've been begging for something that has been avoiding boxing fans for so long.

    Yeah, I suppose so. If nothing else, just to get rid of the WBO, which means **** all in heavyweight terms anyway, and never really has.

    This is the belt Shannon Briggs has held in recent times FFS.

    If this was one of 4 fights next year by Wlad, that would be even better news.

    If it's one of 2 - then the belts won't be unified any time soon.

    Fair enough, I see what your saying and I dont entirely disagree. Yes its a start, but it wont automatically make the division worth watching again for the average fan like it was in the 90s. There is little to no hype for any Heavyweight matches anymore, unless Holyfield's fighting. These Heavyweight champs have no personality what so ever, theres no rage or anything. I could see why people stopped watching the divsion, theres no excitement anymore.:verysad

    That's kind of what I was thinking. Get the moneyfight over with. Sultan may not have his heart in there...
