I always liked Iggy better than his rival Chagaev. Sultan was smarter...more clever, as he proved by going the limit with Wlad, whereas Chag was clobbered.
I think Iggy would do better than Chagaev. Less plodding. Liston is the only definite loss on the list. By no means would he sweep best of the rest, though.
Iggy retired too soon! The southpaw had impressive hand and foot speed, a knock out punch, good offensive accuracy to the head or body, a good chin, and could counter. He would be a giant in the 1950's, at 6'2" 220 pounds. Wlad could not hurt him and his trainer Manny Steward said Ibragimov was likely the best he had fought in 2008. I think Ibragimov could upset anyone in the time line, and would place him only behind Liston and Marciano in head to head match ups.
sultan was a good amateur but there is no evidence he could carry it to the top level in the pros. sorry but the best he might make is a contender.
I never liked Sultan much. He ran from Wlad all night long in the biggest fight of his career, looked average in beating ancient versions of Briggs and Holyfield and retired with some 23 fights. Not someone who should be given props to have a huge impact in any given era. At best he'd be fringe in most of them particularly the stronger ones.
