    How would the fight unfold?

I believe I read that the two of them fought in the amateurs in what was described as a rather violent fight. Didn't say who won maybe some controversy involved in that. At one time there was talk of the two of them fighting in the pros but the fight never materialized.

IMO Ibragimov would win, outstanding chin, underrated boxing skills, sneaky power plus Chagaev seemed to have peaked early in his pro career and by the time that fight was talked about RC was in the downward spiral.

It was scheduled. I was looking forward to it as both had a belt. I think Ibragimov's speeder hand, range and feet would edge out Chagaev for a points win. Iggy had a lot of talent. He left the game too soon.

Two guys who completely under performed in their pro careers relative to their amateur status and success.

I suppose Chagaev accomplished a bit more, but still. I don't think he ever quite lived up to that monikor... "White Tyson".

Whereas i know that comparing two fighters by how they performed vs a common opponent is a bit shaky, I do think that you can refer to how both guys performed vs Wlad Klitschko as a good barometer in this case. Iggy had the better chin, better defense and ring intelligence than Chagaev IMO. Sure Sultan lost to WK, but he was resourceful enough...clever enough to not get knocked out, whereas Chagaev you almost felt sorry for vs Wlad...he was just there to get a shellacking..to get brutalized till the stoppage...it almost looked at times as though he needed a bodyguard or something. I also think that Ibragimov retired too soon. He was a very good fighter....the best of the Russian heavyweights at the time.

I'm not sure if Iggy had the better chin, certainly the better fighter defensively though.

Chagaev to me always seemed to actually have a cast iron chin... How many nuclear shots did it take to finally fell him vs Wladimir? Compare to how Wladimir left Pulev sprawled out cold after just a few rounds of similar shots.

If I'm remembering correctly he took more incoming than almost any Wlad opponent, outside of maybe Lamon Brewster, or an old Ray Mercer.

lol@ outstanding chin.. Iggy had a pudding chin and his heart was extremely questionable.

He ran and squirmed from Wlad all night. David Haye produced a better performance against a braver Wlad who attempted to engage more.

Total bum Austin dropped him on his ass and fought him to a draw. I watched him fight extremely timid against a 270 pound Briggs who was too sick to throw a punch.

Chaggy had the chin between these two. He went face first into Wlad power hand and barely flinched. I favour him to shatter Iggys glass jaw and glass heart within 8 round tops.

I was actually wondering about the Dino take on these two common Wlad opponents. Which way would his poisonous pen aim? Now we know.

I guess you did not see the Olympic gold medal match between Ibragimov and the legendary Felix Savon?

I'll save you some time, Savon, known for power did not hurt Ibragimov, but Inbragmov certainly rocked and cut the amateur star. Savon's reach and experience won him the points decision. Ibragmov also took some hard right hands from Wlad, and was down just once in his entire career.

Briggs can punch. He didn't hurt Ibragimov either.

Chagaev in my opinion does not hit as hard as Wlad, Briggs or Savon! So know you know he has a good chin, Dino. All I ask if you do a little research and learn. One day you might make a good hater :)

For those who care, I had a bit of an inside track on Ibragomiv as he was based near me and covered by a boxing writer I chatted with from time to time. Sultan was a humble guy.

His style was transformed under Mayweather to become a more elusive fighter and take advance of his speed. Flaws such as crossing up his feet when he moved were corrected. And none other than Mr. Mike Tyson was a fan of his.

If you haven't seen much of him, he had a vicious body shot, and a KO type of left hook. If he was round today in his prime years, he could very well be the man to beat.

Not against Iggy he couldn't and he didn't hurt him because he never hit him. He was sick in that fight and retired immediately afterward. He didn't return till over two years later. He couldn't even throw a punch in that fight , let alone land one.
Watch the fights instead of looking up boxrec ponchy.

And Cruiser weight David Haye done better against Wlad than Sucktan Ibragabum did.

Plus , Chagaev was scheduled to take a pasting of Haye but the fight fell through because he failed to pass a medical exam for the second time. The first time being the Valuev rematch. It was that medical failure that Wlad fought.
These are type of wastemen that make up Wlads legacy.. :cunaooooo:... It wasn't known as the worst HW division known to mankind for no reason was it? :flaming:

Ask the mods or the owner. It would not be too hard to create. Three Thumbs down = a Dino?

Exactly this. And the more dislikes you get, the closer the font colour becomes to the background ;)
