They're going to war in the sixth. Iskandarov making his stand, looking to rip Ajibu's head off, but shipping far more punishment himself. Iskandarov breathing through his mouth, lucky Ajibu is just slapping at him and not turning over any power shots. Even the slaps have Iskandarov backing up from every fiery exchange. Iskandarov plows his way in and manages to lodge a jab/hook hybrid into the mandible of Ajibu, but in return his head is bobbled around with a flush right hand and left hook.

What's that huge diagonal scar under Iskandarov's right armpit?? Looks like somebody sliced him open with a battle-ax!

 

Like somebody that never learned the fundamentals because he (and his coaches, more's the pity) figured he would never have to, banking on just smashing through everybody.

Ajibu battered down with a series of power-swats on the flank (might have been a liver or kidney shot in there) in the middle of the seventh, gets up, Iskandarov swarms, and the ref jumps in when Ajibu covers his face and squats.

Should be a wake-up call that somebody has to actually teach Ibragim how to box.

As for Ajibu, he was reacting badly in that round, so the stoppage might have been inevitable, plus there's no guarantee he wasn't going to get robbed even if he avoided the power for another few rounds.

 

Anna Konstantinovna Levina vs. Sarafina Julius Bela, 10x2" rounds @ flyweight

 

Ugh, the low hurdle to compete for a world title in women's boxing..

Julius is 3-3-1, and that is against strictly domestic Tanzanian opposition. None of her opponents had a winning record.

 

^ to be fair, Levina's record isn't that much better. After beating a fellow debutante in her own pro debut, she then beat two more, then lost to a 9-26-1 chick, and then beat a 2-1 broad from Latvia to punch her ticket into a vacant title fight. Yikes.
