100 is a landmark in any language, UFC 100 should be made as memorable as possible IMO. Id have some single fights + an 8 man tournament - open weight, that was the **** back in the day, really exciting, pride did it quite a lot & some of their best ever shows involved tourney`s. The 1st fights should be 2 5min rds, the semi`s should be 3 5min rds & the final should be the championship distance of 5 5min rds tho I doubt we would need judges after all that fighting. Why not bring back Royce Gracie to fight Ken Shamrock for a 3rd time since they fought & were the standout fighters in UFC 1, that would draw in some old fans of the sport & even if it was a **** fight, its only 15mins. Dana White should break the bank & get Fedor on a 1 fight contract for UFC 100 too or better still, enter him in the tourney. Just a few thoughts, what would you guys have done if it were up to you & you had the power ?
They put out a video game so people could play around like that, but they're a "legit" sport now, so they're never going to go into that tough man style tournament again. Besides, they would make way more money doing those fights at seperate events with lots of filler. Also, now that there are weight classes to hold belts in and work your way up, I doubt smaller fighters would risk their status for something like that. Cute idea, but it'll never ever ever ever happen.
Because then the athletic commisions return the favor and you never promote another show on us soil. It is interesting but the logistics of getting the fighters and all of that would be impossible. It would basically just be a heavyweight tournament with a few others, but it doesn't really tell us anything.
Tournaments are out of the question really. I think they should have all the champions defend their belts as well as some other super-fights etc. Extra long card i.e. televise the whole thing perhaps. Even this is very unlikely. BJ is meant to be defending at UFC 99 and other champs are defending around that time. I think only GSP, Rashad and Silva will be able to defend around that time. That's not bad I suppose. I don't know.:huh I guess we'll just have to leave it to Dana and Joe Silva to pull something out of the hat.
the 8 man tournament does not need champions to compete, because the 8 man tournament creates big names. Grand Prix are the best event in the sport the ultimate ultimate 95 is the greatest MMA event ever.
