...and who exactly has Usyk beaten to make one think he'd beat a former heavyweight champ that ko'ed Joe Louis? He's got a long way to go to reach that level, maybe he will, but as of now,,,no.

Also reminds me of the Anthony Joshua threads where the irrational and easily impressed crowd were picking AJ to beat Ali, Foreman and Mike Tyson.

Right so as I said Manny Pac could beat Rocky Marciano despite Marciano out weighing. I have no doubt that Manny Pac or even Floyd Mayweathre could knock out Marciano if they landed their best punch and on that note I have to ignore you. I tried to give you change to prove you had a tiny bit of intelligence. You do not so you get ignored. Bye bye.

Lol and why do you think a 180 pound Max Schmeling who fought in a inferior era for talent and athleticism could beat Usyk/? Wait Max knocked out china chin Joe Louis. Yeah because that really proves something right? Because Max knocked out a glass chin 190 pound guy from the 1930's clearly it means Max would be good enough to knock out a 6'3 205 pound modern skilled and modern athletic fighter.

Anthony Joshua is a heavyweight. George Foreman is a heavyweight. Mike Tyson is a heavyweight Muhammad Ali was a heavyweight . Max would be a small cruiserweight by today's standards and would have inferior skill. Usyk is basically a heavyweight. So somebody picking Anthony Joshua a heavyweight isn't close as bad as people like you who keep picking smaller fighters from the 1930's to beat a modern fighter who is bigger than him.

What’s a Usyk? Has he been tested yet or are all the fanboys once again trying to compare an untested 17 fight pro to an ATG?

I think we can say he has been tested against the top 200lbs fighters. of today.
We can also state that Schmeling himself never beat a top ten ranked fighter over 200lbs.
So perhaps that is something to ponder?

I wouldn't pick Usyk over Schmeling yet, however not thinking Usyk would be one of the best there and beat quality opponents is foolish. He has already beat a stellar Cruiserweight division.

The underlined is a highly debatable statement,Schmeling's only ko stoppage of note in the 20's was Risko in1929. Sandwiched between Dempsey and Baer I would pick George Godfrey as the biggest puncher.

Now we can tell all the fan boys from the posters who have a clue. No one who really knows the sport and it’s history would EVER compare an untested 17-0 contender and a former great undisputed hwt champion. THINK people!

Three years since this thread went up.

Usyk is now leading...but still has it all to prove.
