from what i saw, i pick Joe Frazier to maul Usyk.

Seriously, Usyk shows flashes of brilliance but got hit too much. He doesn't have the Joe Louis power either. If he wants to win the world heavyweight title, he has to improve drastically and fast.

True, but he has a better chin than Frazier. I always though tase Usyk vs threads were premature.

Usyk could be that rare, durable overachiever with skills at heavyweight without much power. Well-conditioned too. Could he become champion? Maybe, but time is short.

Maybe but he hasn't been hit by a Foreman yet either

I would like to see a slick southpaw like Usyk win the title. But at 33-34, he has very little time. I hope he wins but i wasn't too happy with what i saw vs Chisora.

I generally agree, though to be fair this was an unusually good Chisora, who has a pressing type of style.

Schmeling comes in with a plan and stops Usyk late.

I still think very highly of Usyk but the fanboys who are trying to spin this one into some kind of epic, revelatory performance are embarrassing themselves.

I understand all of this, and I also understand that Chisorah is a bit of a banana skin type fighter.

What I am saying is that Usky's performance was satisfactory.

Not exceptional, not brilliant, just satisfactory for a fighter at his level.

Usyk is overrated. I seriously dont see what so many of you do and trust me I'd like to considering I'm 3/4 Ukrainian. I agree with my man @Man Machine. Schmeling comes prepared as always and takes care of business.

Max doesn't possess the physical assets, or frankly boxing skill, to make Usyk look ordinary. Usyk stops him late.

Page 4: you agree that Usyk is the right pick over Schmeling and speculate as to whether or not he could beat Joe Louis.

Three years later, page 18: "I always thought these Usyk vs threads were premature."

I agree it was not an outstanding performance at all. He did not look comfortable early on dealing with the extra weight of his opponent and at times he looked like he was going to be in trouble. I have never seen him get hit with so many overhand rights before.

I will say that he adjusted well by the middle of the fight and was in control down the stretch. It is clear that he is not a natural heavyweight at least in this era.

Ja, aber er hält es geheim.

In all seriousness, given Usyk was up against Chisora - a guy in the twilight of his career - who was relatively slow and lacking in mobility, it was a fairly disappointing performance - and not a particularly convincing win.

I think a few heavyweights will be fancying their chances against Usyk, after watching him against Del Boy.

Having said that, you can pick a fight where anybody looked so so.
