You are not crazy, but I would suggest that you are somewhat premature.

Thanks for the video. The top amateurs have lots of experience against world class fighters and in these fights, both fighters are well trained and in good shape. These boxers don't get to pick who they fight. They enter a tournament and fight until they either lose a fight or win the tournament. Usyk might have relatively few "pro" fights but many of the guys he was fighting as an "amateur" would be world class pros.

The guy Usyk was fighting in the video looked good too, he moved so well that I looked him up online. Hard to believe he is 6-6, 240 pounds...There is a lot of talent out there.

People using the Kovalev example as a salutatory warning are bang on the money.

Quite frankly, a Kovalev type figure emerges on these forums every few years.

There was a time when people were seriously matching Jean Marc Mormeck against the best sub 200lb fighters of all time.

Now I have followed Usky since the amateurs, and I am very excited by the potential that he brings to the table, but I am not in any hurry to throw him in with Max Schmeling.

I am with you on the interest in Usyk at heavyweight. Although I don't love his chances, particularly versus AJ, Usyk has the requisite skill level to go up and prove people like me wrong, that size isn't as important a factor as recent history would suggest.
Currently I would hypothetically favour the elite so called super heavies against more accomplished past greats but if Usyk goes up and beats Wilder/Ortiz/Joshua it will force me to re-think how the likes of Ali would fare against Lewis/Bowe/Klitchkos. Not that Usyk=Ali or that they are too similar style wise but they are the same size and neither boasts game changing power, instead relying on their movement and ring IQ. Interesting times ahead at heavyweight.

Usky's problem at heavyweight, is not so much going to be the top ten, as the top two.

The cruisers did just fine against heavyweights who did not have the word Klitschko in their name.

Usyk has flaws but he certainly beats Shmelling, he probably out boxes Louis too bc he moved alot.He would not let louis set up and Louis calculated slow movement would be hard to catch him as well as Usyk being bigger than Louis .But thats another disection of a thread i wont make bc then im trolling right?lol but when i say Usyk cant beat many current HW's im trolling too anyway and i get the ban threat...smh ? lmao

Schmeling was a far greater fighter than this amateur level fighter. Louis of course was in a different universe in terms of skill speed and power. Both KO the inexperienced fighter quite quickly.....of course. Only a complete fool would believe otherwise.

They were also punchers, and hard to hit. What Cruisers are you talking about? Haye is the only true smaller guy that did O.K. and again bdc he was hard to gage and he could punch.Haye is also 6'3 and could carry 230 easy if he wants too not exactly a past era cruiser is he naturally? ...at 210 he wasnt beating Klitchko and he landed flush multiple times.

Did you miss the Conn fight ,you know that 140 pound guy beefed up to 175? do you ever post anything relevant is a better question and actually give breakdowns as to reason? Usyk is 6'3 and at Hw would be a handful for Louis win or lose.If you are suggesting Usyk is not a top guy at HW in Louis's era it only continues to show how little you actually know about boxing.

The thread itself explains itself with the Ts bc its a a REAL life scenerio thats NOT far fetched like Henry cooper knocking down Mike Tyson in rnd one isnt it? lmao

Galv you have no idea what you are talking about. Prime Louis and Schmeling were great hwt champions with 50 plus bouts under their belt at their best. Both very technical highly skilled fighters who could take your head off with their blows. We are talking these two at their best not on an off night...at their best. The amateur level opponent you are saying would best both Joe Louis, top two hwt ever to live and Schmeling, former rated ATG hwt champion, has 13 pro fights and has never fought a good hwt in his entire career let alone an ATG.

Every single post you write is so full of crap it's obvious you know nothing of what you're writing about. Pure and utter crap.
