Beat me too it ..Lets also not forget that Ward is not a brawler so I don't see him in a life and death situation in the ring if he doesn't have too .

That quote was from Micky Ward, not Andre Ward, right?

Vitali Klitschko, Roberto Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez, Miguel Cotto are all tough *******s and they've all quit in the ring among many others. Most fighters would rather quit than die in the ring. In fact, I remember Israel Vazquez saying that exact same thing right before he retired on his stool in the first Rafael Marquez fight.

And as I said, very few fighters have ever given me the impression they would lay it all on the line in the ring, and Andre Ward certainly doesn't seem like the type. When a guy would rather clinch than trade punches that doesn't give me the impression he's a hardcore, fight to the death, badass.

Now THAT'S one of the few boxers that have ever given me the impression they would lay their life down in the ring. Ward was one baaaaad mother****er.

I think the previous post said it best was it Micky Ward that said that ..He never talked about dying in the ring but he sure as hell went life and death with Gatti like you said most fighters would rather quit than die in the ring ..To me the best was the face off for Bradley Alexander and Alexander's traininer was like he's gonna have to kill Devon he is willing to die in the ring etc how bout fight in the ring .

.I have always ignored crap like this because who is really willing to die in the ring by a beatdown ? I don't know too many peole that would all though Roy Jones as of late is trying to prove that he would ..:huh Either statement used way too much these days ..

Andre Ward is a conservative christian. You shouldn't expect honesty from him.
