I think it is to try to regain Americans interest in the heavyweight scene. Now obviously, as every heavyweight is on primetime TV is losing in a very sad manner it does nothing to encourage American PPV buys. So , what can you do as a boxing Tzar, simple, any fight where an American heavyweight is about to get a beating, just dont put it on TV, and its like in never happened for most people ..... I have actually read a few posts on this forum, where its sugested the Kilts should retire, as they are spoiling the division by being too good, funny no one ever said that about Ali, or Tyson.... Also one post sugested a kind of "special" olympics type contest/world championship for American heavys, just like a normal world title, exept anyone that is world class (not from america) can not compete. KInda like a battle of the weakest, best of the worst, is that what you really want?
It's because HBO, and then ESPN were too damn scared to run boxing against March Madness. Plus... they have to keep money available for Tarver vs Dawson IV and V.
whatever the reason, you didn't miss out. It was a typical Wlad snoozefest until the very last minute of the fight. Even the knockout was a one punch knockout which means there was precisely 1 second of action in the entire evening.
Your a "Boxing Fanatic" and do not know the names of the top two heavyweight fighters of this decade.......ouch
think he was referring to the article where they were saying american fans are too stupid to know the difference between the two.
