the man is being wasted with Sky at minute and given that he is an historian surely it would be chance for Mee to do a bit on the 60th anniversary of the epic St. Valentines Day massacre?

I think it would be really exciting if they ignored him for half an hour then asked him an obscure question about the rules.

Your right, Mee's role in the new Sky boxing line-up is a joke. He could phone-in his part at home.

It was a bit odd on their first bill of the year. The introduced the ringside commentary/analysis team and there were four of them all lined up with microphones, then we get the fight and it was just the regular format of two comentators, same as ever. Bit odd. Have to say, I was disappointed to see a row of four commentators, I think two works far better, so I would leave that alone anyway and give people like Mee a role in the studio.

he should have a regular spot on ringside (10 minutes say) he picks the era and shows some footage and drops some knowledge .

At the moment, I think Sky/Adam Smith are working on different things in terms of their presentation coverage. Like they had Cleverly/Oliver with the commentary team for Prizefighter/McDonnell-Jamoye, whilst on Saturday they had Smith and Woodhall discussing things sometimes in between rounds. Hopefully they decide to use Mee a lot more.

I've got an idea for Ringside, don't allow Adam Smith to ask the interviewee any questions. He's come out with a succession of stupid questions since the show started that the guest can only answer in one way:

    Example
Adam Smith to John Murray: Which punches hurt the most, the punches you take in the ring or the ones your brother takes?

    TheGiftedOne: STFU!!!!

He must get paid a fortune and that's the best type of question he can come up with!!!! Ringside have got a great platform to ask the boxers/promoters etc. some interesting revealing questions about their careers, but virtually everytime he opens his mouth he comes up with a tabloid type question. I think even Johnny gets racked off with his drivel. He's supposed to be an Oxbridge student, so you'd have thought he could have used his noggin abit more than he has been doing

He also pisses me off when he interjects, talks over or cuts short a guests response. Adam we want to listen to the guests not you, watch a few of Michael Parkinson shows to see how it's done.

After saying all that, I do Love the Ringside show especially Johnny Nelsons and Jamie Moores contributions and the quality of the guests on it, but I think there 's room for improvement surrounding Adam Smith

Its embarrasing how they are using Bob Mee.

He explains a couple of standard rules at the beginning of the fight, than he gets asks about 1 question somewhere in the latter half of the fight about some random rule that probably has no bearing on the fight we're watching. :patsch

At least give him the scorecard to do if they're trying to mimic Ledermans role on HBO.

Overall I am glad Sky are trying to shake things up, probably just need a bit of time to sort it all out.

    good idea that.

On ringside as the thread starter stated a small 7-10 minutes piece on the anniversary of a big fight would be cool

They need to give him more to do, I like the changes Sky are making but it seems at times that they're overloaded with pundits. If he's stuck doing the rules he should at least do a Lederman impression.

Him doing a history spot would be perfect IMO.
