It isn't. It's not even scheduled for a full 12 rounds. I've heard different things on if it's even an official bout, Frank Warren says that it is but Boxrec has yet to list it as such and they're usually pretty good about that sort of thing. That said, if Fury were to somehow lose to Ngannou, he'd probably retire. I don't think he'll lose, but being the cynic I am, I do wonder if he might turn in an intentionally somewhat lacking performance and then use it as justification to rematch him and get another big payday while still avoiding any real boxers. I hope that's just me being cynical but you never know with boxing and especially not with a guy like Fury

If he happens to lose (can't hope for this hard enough), then they should strip him for embarrassing their brand and the sport and force an eliminator between their #1 and #2, which would be Wilder vs. Joshua, winner to fight Usyk-Hrgovic winner for undisputed. A different ideal scenario: Nagannou gets KD'd and concussed early, then is brutally beaten over the course of 5 rounds before slumping through the ropes out the ring unconscious. Fury sings 'I've Got a Friend in Jesus' over Nagonouo's slumped and bloodied body. PPV bombs and nobody ever goes to 'the Saudis' ever again. Fury is pressured by backlash and orgs to fight Usyk and makes the fight. Wilder and AJ never fight but fade away with 'stay busy' fights, possibly get KO'd. No more opportunities for Frank Sanchez. He's had enough. Joshua rolls the dice and is KO'd by Zhang at Wembley so that he takes a loss from the other major stock he is superior to.

Dude, if you wanna see someone die you can find places like that pretty easily on the internet. You don't gotta wish for these sort of matchups to see that Jokes aside, I'd say 2 and 10 are the most likely at the moment, what with Hrgovic being a mandatory and Chisora firmly in the gatekeeper category for guys like Clarke. Still have hopes for AJ-Wilder but until it's done I'm gonna remain skeptical just to save myself from disappointment. Anderson ain't gonna risk a fight with someone like Ajagba right now, Joyce vs. Yoka would be a good crossroads fight but I feel like Yoka won't risk it, Hunter seems to have ****ed off from genuine boxing matches for now and Jalolov seems more focused on his amateur career until the 2024 Olympics. Which is a shame, because they're all pretty good matchups and in an ideal world most of those fights would be a matter of when and not if, or would have happened already.
What are you talking about? Wilder has NEVER wanted it. He only likes to pretend he wants it because admitting his cowardice openly is too brazen even for him, so he'd do what he always does - demand such a high cut that he can rest easy in the knowledge that it'll never, ever happen.
You are correct that Wilder has avoided the fight in the past. But right now, I think his management want to cash him out with a big payday against Joshua. Shelley Finkel is probably considering that since Wilder will be turning 38 in October, his options for a big payday will decrease in the future.
