I was looking at this fight against Gomez, and I kept thinking that if Khan had the shoulder roll style down pat, the fight would have been easy for Khan. Once he learns to use his shoulders to sneak in the inside shots and roll away from punches, he'd be a complete fighter.

I don't know if Roger and Floyd's personalities would mesh with Khan, but I was thinking maybe Jeff Mayweather, or Toney's old trainer.

Given how many years of training it takes to learn this technique, then apply it naturally and effectively under extreme pressure, I'd say no. He's got a good trainer with Roach, let's see what Freddie can do to tighten up his defense using a more orthodox approach. Slip, move, block.

I think Willie Pep would have been the ideal candidate :p
In all serious though Khans lucky to have Roach in his corner.

Given how much trouble he had with Gomez I don't see him beating Barrera because that's how Barrera will fight if his boxing is not working and he beat Marquez in many people's eyes just months ago. I know this thread is about trainers but who cares I don't think it matters a great deal with Khan he will never be a terrible fighter or a great one.

Why not Floyd Sr. as he's the master of the shoulder roll himself. Remember, Floyd Jr's developmental and real trainer was always his dad, all of Jr.s foundation comes from him.
