You dont win titles at 4 weights only fighting bums

you dont beat 18 world champions and world tiltlists fighting bums

can you guys have a brain of your own instead of regurgitating what you heard from some so called expert

Jones has beaten more champions than Hopkins, Mayweather, Pac-Man, Marquez, anyone active today so if he has ever fought was bums all of the current fighters are bums

numbers dont lie, dude only lose in his prime before 35 was a DQ fight he was winning and avenged by early kayo man yall are some serious haters

its sad a B- fighter like Gatti gets more respect than a dude that was the best most dominant fighter of his era.

People that were actually watching Boxing at the time in question remember all the great fights that Jones robbed us of by insisting on fighting worthless Mandatory bouts against no-hopers. HBO, which at that time amounted to his personal production company, was not calling him Reluctant Roy for nothing.

I am not calling him a bum and I am not saying that he had no talent. What I'm saying is that he is the most overrated fighter on this board and you do not know what he "coulda, shoulda, woulda" done against any true ATG because he refused to test himself. He also has a Glass Jaw, one of the worst in the sport. When he finally started fighting guys who were not in the least intimidated by him, had a modicum of skill, and a good punch (in Johnson's case no punch), he went to sleep. There is nothing on his resume to justify the claims his delusional nuthuggers make about him.

they can say what they want...numbers dont lie...all the blind hate cant take away the fact Jones was the best fighter of his era and beat more champs than any fighter of his time ....since their have been the WBC, IBF, AND WBA no one has beaten more titlists and champs than him, if you **** on Jones you basically **** on em all, not a true boxing fan

So Jones is the only fighter to blame for fights being made?

Who has a better resume...Jones or Nigel Benn, McClellan, Michalcewski, or Eubank

facts...Jones beat better competition than them....you can say he is this or that but they werent calling him out or begging to fight him either...it goes both ways

fact...Jones has beaten more champions than Eubank, Benn, and McClellan combined

I see, one must agree with your opinion or they are not Boxing fans. Thanks for letting me in on that, I guess I've been paying for PPVs and subscribing to HBO and SHO for years for nothing.

    :patsch

Keep talking about your numbers, I'll just remember all of his best contemporaries that he did not face.

boxing has always been this way.. find the BEST FIGHTER and people who do not like them for whatever reason can twist and bend things to make them look like complete bums!

roy jones in hes prime would be one of the best fighters to ever step between the ropes!

I respect Gatti to, helluva heart...a good fighter to..but was never the best anytime in his weight class and gets more respect than a guy that dominated his era

people seem to love a good loser more than a winner

How many other fighters have literally cherrypicked their way through the divisions without ever cleaning one out and establishing Dominance and only taking vacant or meaningless belts? The man never beat a lineal, unified, or undisputed Champion. Ever. Until you can explain that away, you are going to have to get used to the Fact that rational fans do not live in the same land of "coulda, woulda, shoulda" that the Royboys do. You see, pugilist, there are these little things called Facts, and the Facts of this matter are that Jones' career was a dog-and-pony show with more skillful matchmaking than actual fighting.

    because people love the underdog.

roy was simply clowning around half the time dominating opponents
i remember in the build up to RJJ-J.TONY people were leaning either way with who was going to win..

everyone was in shock after the fight, not because roy won.. but because he did it SO ****ING EASILY

when you are at the top its easy to get haters, 5 years after he hangs them up im sure people will look back on him as being one of the greatest fighters
