HBO and Showtime are hungry for stars, and he's exciting, unfortunately he may get pushed before he's ready.

Chris Chatman's the only even low level test he's faced and he got hit a lot too much in that first round, though he kinda figured him out in the second. Funny enough I was just re-watching that one yesterday.

As you say, he really does need to tighten up that D, but otherwise he seems very promising and he certainly doesn't lack for power and quality offense.

I think we need to see him against some better opponents, and certainly someone who can bang a bit before annointing him the next big thing though

Arent we going in pretty heavy on hyping these prospects?

Give them a year or so, eeshh!

I know theres talent there from the amateurs, but we should give these guys a little time to mature into the pros before we hail them as the next coming

I don't recall that either. I heard someone question his chin after the Chatman fight, citing the ''near KD'' in the first as evidence. The shot looked like it landed to the chest or top of the stomach to me and the power of it just knocked him off balance.

    From an interview with him.

'Khytrov participated in over 500 amateur bouts, more than current RING junior featherweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux and WBA middleweight titleholder Gennady Golvkin.

“I started to fight when I was seven years old,” Khytrov said. “But I really didn’t take it seriously until around 2003. A year later, I won the bronze at the European Championship and the Nationals. I was going to these tournaments and fighting every day. The tournaments would come one after another.”

Your right it was 4 in the morning when I was making the thread it was my 7th thread of the night, I was getting sleepy, I was saying he beat Murata, and was then going to say him getting rocked by Chatman and lost to Ogogo in the ams concerned me, but I got ahead of myself because I was typing too fast while tired, I fixed it, to what I meant to type.

He's definitely my favourite MW prospect at the moment.
I like his style and he's got all the tools to follow Golovkin's footsteps and maybe in a year or 2 Golovkin vs Khytrov, would be a slugfest!

No worries. I post when I'm really tired a lot too and I'm always making mistakes and typos. Good threads though :good
