I told you guys a while back that he didn't have it. He was too easy to hit and in this sport that can't be the case. Boxing is a brutal sport. Khytrov has to think about his future.

Aleem has to get in better shape but he learned a lot in this fight.

I think James5000 has a point for a change, he's been sparring with Jacobs, and let's be honest, who is the protected guy in these sparring sessions? Its Danny, so he's probably been laying it on Khytrov and Derevyanchenko, and they've been playing the dutiful sparring partner and not going all out, and whether people want to admit it or not, repeated punches to the head in sparring kind of softens up someone for a KO. See the Dawson-Miranda pre-Ward sparring story for example.

Maybe Ievgen came into the match slightly concussed and when he ate that huge overhand right it exacerbated it big time. Which lead to his eventual KO loss tonight, maybe I'm making excuses because I'm a big Khytrov fan, but **** like that happens and it should be taken into consideration. Maybe it was just that it was a shot he never saw coming, it was actually amazing he was able to survive the first round, most would have been KO'd, and again after the first KD, his chin is pretty damn impressive really.

No need to write him off just yet, after all I and many people made that mistake with Badou Jack, and he proved all of his chin doubters wrong.

tbh khytrovs trainers as a pro have been terrible and its been pointed out for a while now, he has regressed since he was an amateur , he needs to join up again with lomachenkos dad, or robert garcia

he's trainer has been useless and made him worse

Style was all wrong for Khytrov, I havent seen the fight yet but when I studied the tape I was pushing for this fight in the league as I saw Khytrov as a guy who would be unable to handle movement and Aleem looked slick, quick and fleet footed in his last fight.

Agree they're pretty worthless, I've been wanting the same thing for a while as well, hopefully this will be his wake up call. Papa Lomachenko needs to get his children back under his wing and help them keep their skill fine tuned.

It had nothing to do with Aleem's slickness, it was just that Ievgen ran face first into a massive overhand right to the temple/top of the head, the rest of the match was all Khytrov when he wasn't getting dropped. Aleem was out on his feet several times during the match as well.

ya havn't watched it yet but apart from that skill wise i think he has regressed, he went from a skilled pressure fighter to almost a face first brawler as a pro lol

I guess we won't know unless there is a rematch but I think had the fight gone to a decision Khtyrov would have had a hard time out pointing Aleem hes best shot was to knock him out. I didnt see Khytrov getting knocked out though.

Nah I havent yet but I saw the contrast in style within the twos last fight and bet on Aleem which was great odds lol. Khtrov is a pressure fighter these guys get hit alot in his case he couldnt handle the power in this particular night.

Agree, he's spotty as hell, he looked like hell against Brinson, but he looked like he was back on track with the Mendez win, he'd ironed out a few of his kinks and was applying intelligent pressure, he looked great I got my hopes up again, and tonight he looked like he'd regressed back to his Melendez, Coley, Brinson level again.:shakehead:

the thing was in the am's he would set up he's punches and move he's head, he tended to land bigger cleaner punches, he now just brawls

Khytrov won every round he wasn't dropped or hurt in, as in he made it look easy, if Khytrov had of boxed a little more defensively, he would have beaten Aleem with ease, they need a rematch, and Khytrov f he can work on avoiding the overhand right, which he did occasionally, he stops Aleem.

ya, he can blow hot and cold, but i don't think he needs a huge overhaul to become a force to be reckoned with

he needs a anatoly lomachenko or robert garcia to get back on track to where he was before, heck even joe gallagher might be a step up lol
