if 10 years ago, people would have told me about what folks say about RJJ..........

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Calzaghe was passed it but Jones was exposed?

You obviously have hate for American fighters.

I can't believe you would even bring Calzaghe's name up after criticizing Roy for fighting bums. Jones resume > Calzaghe resume:deal

its an example of how great fighters adapt and how other fighters can't.

look how great jones was against lacy. it was like he was back in the days when he feasted on sanitation workers and civil servants. if roy had have carried on fighting this calibre of oponent then he would never have been exposed and the wool would have still been pulled over america's eyes.

if roy hadn't have ducked nunn, mcllelan, eubank, benn, calzaghe, and DM then this fraud would have been exposed much earlier and the american illusion would have been shattered.

I think he is actually one of the most overrated on these forums. Right now of course there is threads about his chin mostly because he just got KOd.
But everywhere he gets rated very highly.

I personally think Bhop is the better of the two.

This video was right before Jones went to heavyweight, I have even heard multiple posters call Woods garbage competition, and say Roy started getting knocked out because he stepped up in competition, not because he declined.

Woods went 1-1-1 with Johnson, how that means Johnson was a step up in competition is beyond me.

Anyone that knows boxing, can see that this Roy Jones (even though not peak) was much different than the Roy Jones after he dropped from heavyweight.

You would have to be a moron not to see the difference.

No. Bhop lost. Decisively. Jones moves up to win titles in three other weight classes while Hopkins reigned in a division that he wouldn't have had Jones stayed.

That was a loud mouthed arrogant ***** during his prime. And that wold have been ok if he gives exciting fight - but no, he is so ****ing boring in the ring.

So don't be surprised that he does not get the sympathy of many here..

Yea I know he was egotistical in his prime... and I knew when he fell people would be all over him. I remember the general forum when Jones got KO'd by Tarver... jesus christ man... there was so many avatars of him on the ground and pictures it was ridiculous.

    Horribly biased post.

Not a Jones fan, certainly not a Hopkins fan. But Jones was almost 40 when they fought, and I hope you realize he is 5-5 in his last 10 fights. He beat Lacy because, well, Lacy was never all that good to begin with, despite what certain circles would tell you. Of course Calzaghe would have "feasted" on Jones. He had been done for years.... even according to Calzaghe himself. And JC was far closer to his boxing prime than either of these guys were at the time. He knew what he was doing. Admittedly, he prized the zero in the loss column and wouldn't have put it at what he considered serious risk.

Hopkins was 42 when they fought, and yes he went on to beat Pavlik and it was a good win for him. But realize he is 4-3 in his last 7 fights. And JC barely squeaked by him...... "Feasted."

Don't pretend like these guys are/ were in their prime at any point in the recent past. Its been quite a while for both. And they are amongst JC's best wins.

Your arguments really don't bolster Joe Calzaghe's standing. Inevitably, they detract from it. Why does it always come down to Joe?

I basically agree with the OP, but he doesn't help himself with:

    1) "Y'all must of forgot"
    2) Showboating / opponent disrespect
    3) His daft excuses when he loses
