If 8 division champ is simple as just using PED?!

Like P4P, I see lineal as nothing more than a marketing tool. There are a number of lineages with sketchy breaks from retirements and thereabout. What results are competing lineages. It's fan fiction. A throughline connecting the sport to its past by means of fantasy. You can become an alphabet titlist fighting better competition than a lineal titlist, and vice versa. None of it matters as much as a nuanced accounting of one's competition and performance against said competition, but at least alphabet belts are recognized as trivial and relatively equivalent to each other. Valuing them at all only encourages the promotional boundaries of the sport to ease in pursuit of unification bouts. Lineal titles are often hoisted above the rest as if projecting the past circumstances of the sport onto its present is a solution. It's a farce. Wishcasting.

Its like Zulawski said, to many titles and you have to hook up with the right promoter and know people to get you bogus title opportunities.

For example, Juan Manuel Marquez won titles in 4 different weight classes but with the right promoter who got him title opportunities he could have just as easily have won it in 6, maybe even 7 with the right breaks.

When Marquez was at 126 lbs wanting a big fight with MAB or Morales, he offered to go down to 122 lbs to fight Barrera, it was never granted to him.
Then he fought Pacquiao in their 3rd fight at 147 lbs but was robbed on the cards.
When he finally knocks out Pacquiao at 147 lbs, it wasn't for the world title because Pacquiao had been robbed by Bradley.
Marquez was really unlucky not to have gained a 147 lbs title.
In with the right opponent and a promoter like Pacquiao had in Arum who could pull strings when he matched Pacquiao with Margarito for a bogus world title at 154 lbs and made Margarito weigh in bone dry at 150 lbs, Marquez could have possibly added the junior middleweight title bringing his total of divisions up to 7.

If it were just about winning titles in different divisions, Marquez with the right connections like Arum did to Pacquiao, could have won title from 122 lbs to 154 lbs, for a total of 7.

How at 154 lbs you say? I see a weak link there toward the end of Marquez career.
Remember that talk right before Marquez retired of a fight between Marquez and Miguel Cotto??
Marquez didn't want to fight Cotto at the full 154 lbs, he wanted a catchweight but Cotto wouldn't agree.
With a corrupt promoter like Pacquiao had with Arum, Marquez could have possibly fought Cotto for a bogus vacant juniormiddleweight title and there is his 7th title.

Proof that in today's boxing winning titles in so many divisions isn't the feat that it seems to be.

 

by that logic Pac could have won titles from 112 to 160.

 

Yeah, I'm surprised Arum didn't pull even more strings and have one of the alphabet groups invent a world title belt for Pacquiao to have fought for at 160 lbs vs a weak link.
