If 80's Mike Tyson was fighting right now, would he be more popular than Pac & Floyd?

I think i read somewhere that the FOTC was watched my 300 million people world wide.

but Tyson could do 1.5 ppv buys against bums Oscar,Floyd, and Manny can't do that

I wouldn't say Tyson was 2nd to Oscar. He had six fewer events which is why his total revenue is lower, in addition to inflation. Outside of his fight with Floyd, Oscar never did more than 1.4 million - and that was against Tito Trinidad in their primes - Tyson did 1.55 against Peter ****in McNeeley and has four of the top five highest selling PPV events and wasnt close to his prime.

It was actually Leonard who broke down all the barriers for fighters like DLH, Pacman and Money to make their cake. Non-heavyweights were nickel and dimers by comparison before SRL. Say whatever you want about television networks, Howard Cosell and Mike Trainer. He cultivated that by way of insane talent and delivering the goods. Olympic Gold Medalist, burgeoning superstar before he even turned professional, first to earn over $100 million in fight purses (and he still has it), fought and beat the best on the world stage.

No the reason why Boxing is dying is because the business model sucks balls . . . UFC and Wrasslin is thriving but boxing is struggling.

BTW you hasslehoff watching mother****er I do not give a **** about your obsessive passion for the Kbros. My point was that Money is what matters today and they cannot draw more than "the little ****** PBF" or Pac if they fought each other. It is pathetic that you Klitlickers have to resort to racist statements to try to make a point.

Everyone knows that Tyson was the biggest draw in the modern era closely followed by Oscar. They would be **** on by SRL who would be eclipsed by Ali. All i know about the Kbros is that they could not sell out a family picnic outside of Germany or eastern europe:deal

Oh god yes. He'd be crushing all the Eurobums and America/Everyone would eat it right the **** up. Even the UFC fans would grovel at Iron Mike's feet.

Back in the day the American HW Champ was a WORLDWIDE celebrity. King of the World. Now the champ has been relegated to "Why is Hayden Panettierre dating that wrestler dude?" status :verysad

Of course. To be a star AND as a HW is huge.

The heavyweight division has a different aura about it because the HW champ is the superlative pugilist in the planet and can whoop every other "champ" out there but to add P4P#1 next to it catapults it to near godlike. He wasn't widely acknowledged as "the baddest man in the planet" for nothing, and same goes for Ali's moniker "the Greatest"

I mean I got friends saying they could take Floyd and Pac because they're small, but they wouldn't say the same **** about IRON MIKE :deal

True, Tyson was The Ring's inaugural P4P #1 when they actually started to put ratings up for it. Probably would've been true for 1986-89.
