If a boxer fought a martial arts master at boxing, what would be the result?

The martial arts that most of us are familiar with is actually a romanticized , Hollywood version of the real martial arts, which in head to head practical combat can be just as mundane and ineffectual as boxing can be at times. It's portrayal (through Bruce Lee and others) is as fantasized and unrealistic as boxing in a Rocky movie. 9 times at of 10, the grandest master in Mui Thai or whatever fad MA discipline today, will lose with a competent boxer in a boxing match. In a street match, both boxer and MA fighter will lose more often than not, to a street savvy fighter like Kimbo Slice.

Ridiculous to think ANY martial ARTIST would have a chance in a fight with fists only against a boxer! :patsch

Boxing is the ULTIMATE form of fighting with the fists. Period! Boxers learn how to throw effective punches, counter punches, combinations, avoiding punches, slipping punches, etc, etc.. Martial artists simply don't have these skills. They look good throwing punches at the air, posing, and against each-other in exhibitions/competitions.

Boxing is THE martial art of the fists. There is no better method, or "art", of fighting with fists than boxing! :bbb

So what if some kung-fu guy can stand there and pretend to be a dragon or a praying mantis or whatever goofy animal... if Callazo was throwing blows with them they'd get murdered. :deal

Chuck Norris sold his soul to the devil for his rugged good looks and unparalleled martial arts ability. Shortly after the transaction was finalized, Chuck roundhouse kicked the devil in the face and took his soul back. The devil, who appreciates irony, couldn't stay mad and admitted he should have seen it coming. They now play poker every second Wednesday of the month.

Actually I misquoted, Rampage generated 1800 pounds of force not pounds per square inch. The PSI # would be smaller.

With gloves on, a boxer wins every time out against any martial art. Without gloves and no holds barred, an MMA fighter wins 99% of the time, giving the other guy a 1% chance for a lucky bomb.

Kimbo Slice in his pre-MMA days loses to the worst MMA fighter the UFC has, horribly and brutally. Rich Gannon beat the bejesus out of him, and he wasn't even good enough to fight UFC.

I have a friend who taking one of the martial arts and his trainer used to make him fight a boxer every so often. He said that he didn't like to face boxers because they were used to being hit.
