No. if he wants to penalize pac for that, it has to be 9-6 and not 10-7. the judge admited that it was his mistake.

    No.

    10 Point Must System.

The judge can do whatever he wants.

it was because of a penalty. you can score 9-9 if the winner of the round was deducted.

    Hell NO.

    Point Deductions
Judges may only deduct points for fouls when they are instructed to do so by the referee.

A judge can not take a point away for a foul, only the referee can.

    :rofl:rofl

You are wrong. A judge can not decide point deduction, only the referee.

I'm not attacking you, but that way of thinking. There should be no if... It's a 10-6 round. The rules are made clear enough that you shouldn't even have to think to note such a round. You only have to do a simple substraction. ¸

10 to the winner of the round
9-1-1-1 for the guy who lost the round (9) and who got KD 3 times (3 X 1)

He's in a hole ? He puts himself there, or got put in the hole should I say. The guy screwed up in the Pacquiao fight.

good point. i already stated my reasoning in my reply to sjs19 about someone being in a deep of a hole if they scored 10-6. what if that round happened in the later rounds and that's the only chance for a fighter to win via points if he is way down on his card.

There are interpretables rules and there are non-interpretables rules.

These rules are interpretables : You cannot hit below the belt, hold or trip. . The ref can't be 100 % sure that every low punches he see were truely under the belt.

These rules are black and white :
If a boxer is knocked out of the ring, he gets a count of 20 to get back in and on his feet. He cannot be assisted.

If a fighter is penalized by the referee (such as for multiple low blows), then the referee will turn to each ring-side judge individually and instruct him to deduct a point for that fighter from their score card for that round.

Under the "10-Point Must System," the winner receives 10 points and the loser 9, denoted as a score of 10-9. Knockdowns are worth a point each, and points deducted by the referee for fouling must be figured into the round's scoring as well.

This whole debate reminds me of rules in hockey (which I'm a big fan of). Refs tends to keep their whistles in their pockets in the last 5 minutes because they don't want to influence the result of the game... but that's exactly what they're doing by choosing when to follow the rules or not !

I'd even say that judges must deduct points as instructed by the ref.
