Firs of all you need to score it without counting the knockdowns.... even or for one fighter or the other... 10-10 or 10-9 (for either fighter)... then subtract a point for each knockdown from the dropped fighter... could be 10-6, 10-7, or 9-7 (which actually gets changed to 10-8) believe it or not!

  2. 10-6- in all honesty however it's pretty rare the fight isn't stopped if a fighter is dropped 3 times in a round.

Personally I think they should how fights are judged completely. For example the winner of the round should get 1 point and the loser none.

For each knockdown, the guy who scores it receives an extra point. So if fighter A knocked fighter B down 3 times, fighter A would win that round 4-0.

If fighter A fouled fighter B in a round however, fighter B is awared a point rather than subtracting a point from fighter A (so people who get dominated don't end up on minus points)

It would make much more sense to the casual fan if a fighter who scores 5 KD's in a fight and wins every round of a 12 round fight wins the fight 17-0 rather than 120-103, easy for the maths, and would avoid mistakes like the judge made in Pac-JMM 1.

Bull****!!! the judges have certain guidelines to follow. If the ref doesn't count a knockdown, the judge can't count it. If the ref counts a knockdown, the judge can't ignore that... he must take a point from the fallen fighter. If the ref doesn't take a point for fouls... the judge can't take a point for a foul.

Knockdowns should count for 2 points IMO.

Not really. Most of the time, it seems the judge has to do whatever the promoter paid him to do.

    ---------------------

Personally, I don't think any round should be allowed to go lower than 10-8.
If a fighter gets KD'd then he's gonna' probably be dazed for that entire round. It's only natural that he might go down 1-2 more times, but that's all due to the first KD. So, he lost the round. Fine. Dock him 2 points.

    - But once a fighter is significantly behind on points, the entire nature of the fight changes for the worse: The losing fighter now has to throw out his entire game plan & start going for the KO.

How does that serve either the fighter or the fans?

10-6 the fighter worked for the KDs and deserves the points.
